A while back a Pom puppy was dog napped from a pet store in the Chicago area. It turned out the young man (19 yrs. old) was paid by 2 employees of the store to do it and he was suppose to turn the pup over to them. Well, they all got caught, the pup returned to the store and has since gone to its new home.
In the newspaper today it stated that the young man was smoking pot and blowing the smoke into the pups face until it passed out!!!!!

 700 saved from Puppy Mill |

Close to 700 breeding dogs and puppies were rescued from the largest puppy mill in Tennessee history. Pine Bluff Kennels was raided and the site was just horrible. The conditions were terrible, dogs and puppies, some dead in the cages were not fed for weeks, no food, no water, and the food they did have was rotten.

Trouble, the beloved dog of Leona Helmsley, the late hotel billionaire, lost $10 million (£5 million) in an inheritance settlement but can still look forward to a life of luxury
Judge Renee Roth, of the Manhattan Surrogate Court, accepted a settlement between Mrs Helmsley's heirs and the New York State Attorney General's office which cut the nine-year-old Maltese's inheritance on the grounds that his owner was mentally unfit when she made her will.

A twister torn thru the town of Richton Park and literally picked up a dog and carried it about a block from its home before putting it down unhurt!!!! The 130 pound dog was in the yard when the twister hit. He was found shaken but unharmed. People saw this happen and Chance is the talk of the town. Maybe he should be renamed Toto.

there is a new group of people who are watchdogs for abused dogs. When Dog Advisory Work Group Court Advocates go to court, they make sure the community understands the crimes against animals are not tolerated any more. They are given handouts with state laws regarding animal cases and guidelines on sentencing. If those guidelines aren't followed, these advocates can approach the attorneys during a recess in a hearing.
