Could anyone recommend a booster seat for Max by chance? I just got a new SUV and he can't see out and some odd reason he is scared to death of it . he liked my car so not sure what is going on but maybe to roomy for him? Also would like the booster to sit firmly on seat and raises him up that way a few I looked at I wondered if they bounced if hit a side road or such.
He crawled up on my lap and that makes me just to nervous as to many things can happen. He loves looking out the window but he is just to short :lol2::lol2::lol2:

I have the one from Pet Gear that is called the "buddy seat" because it accomodates more than one fluff. We have two of the them we use in the back seat and the two big girls do just fine on it. I did modify it with some additional foam underneat the pillow to raise it up and then made a cover for it to fit over the top to keep it clean. This way with two buddy seats, there is plenty of room and they can see out the window..........they LOVE it!!! I also bought a console Pet Gear seat and sometimes allow one of the smaller fluffs to lay in it.......a car seat is a GREAT IDEA!!!!!!! And well worth the money and peace of mind to know they will be safe when in the car.
Here is the one I got:

I use the Pet Gear seat too. I got mine at Kingwholesale.com
I got the grey to match my interior but they have 3 different colors to match. I've had mine for awhile now and LOVE it!! I love the sturdieness of it but its also very light when having to pull it in and out of the car.:thumbup:

I have three in the back of my car and my fluffs love them (there's only 2 in the picture, I added one for my new baby girl Bella). They can see outside and most of the time they just fall asleep just like kids do. It secured to the head rest and the seat of the car. It does not move at all. You can even tie your fluff in it if you want.

I have the Snoozer Lookout Car seat for Emma and I LOVE it!!! It's easy to get in and out of the car, easy to strap her in, and the perfect height for her to be able to look out the window. I also bought a padded car vest harness to go with it - love it too!
Snoozer Lookout (http://www.gwlittle.com/product/dog_car_seats_-_lookout_in_microsuede/dog_car_seats)
Car Vest Harness (http://www.gwlittle.com/product/padded_car_vest_harness_for_dogs/dog_car_harnesses)
Oh, and FYI - my car's passenger side airbag deactivates if there's not enough weight in the seat (safety feature). Otherwise, Em would be in the back seat! :)

So the more I read and look into the more I cant decide. Max is 10 lbs and I would like him upfront with me, alot easier for me plus have the same safety seats on my passenger side also have a console so that would be nice also.
Anyone have feed back how one vs the other? He will be in that harness as posted above I just can't swing buying a console one and a regular one. And also what size would you all think Medium snoozer one maybe if in front even so he has room?
I plan on heading to Florida in next couple month's and we are of course bring Max with on our road trip. Thank you everyone for all this great feedback. I want to make sure we are making a good choice.
Oh we have one of those crossover SUV, MiniVan things it's a Kia Rondo if that helps with the size.

needed to edit to ask, What size is Emma in? I would like Max to be able to lay down and stretch out on our road trip's. Morkie can yours lay down also? Help so many choices for our babies :)

Emma is in a size small. She's a little over 5 pounds and there's more room than she needs, really. The small fits perfectly in my passenger seat. I think that the medium is just 6" or so wider and the other two dimensions are the same as the small. It should be posted on the site - I'd just take a measuring tape out to your car so you can visualize. My mom has the Snoozer console seat for her Yorkie - she's about 5 pounds as well and barely fits in it. If Max is 10 pounds, I don't think that would be a good option for you! They do make a larger SUV size, but it wouldn't fit if you're trying to put it in a standard car. I drive a New Beetle, so I didn't even consider a console seat! I do love the Snoozer Lookout seat so much though, and the car vest harness too - probably my favorite purchase that I've made for Emma. And she loves it too!

LOL.......I'm not sure you have a "huge" selection of colors to choose from but I purchased gray since the interior of my car is gray leather.......And then I made a cover to the seats to fit right over the top so I can remove it easily and wash it if necessary. For the price I paid, I want them to last a very very long time! :)

The Snoozer Lookout comes in TONS of colors, Carol! I mean, Em even has pink!
Good luck with the new seat, Punky - I hope that you and Max enjoy it as much as Emma and I do! :) Oh, and just FYI, those harnesses run on the large side!

Well Booster seat drama carries on......I went to Petsmart and Petco to try a few to get better idea. so far I have decided on a Medium. Might be a little big for him but that's ok.
The ones that have no booster part I don't care for as seemed would "Bounce in front" I love certain feature son each one.
Morkies has the two adjustable straps to harness him to which is a great selling point. And looks so comfy. What harness do you use to secure them in with that one?
Emma's looks so comfy but I worry a little about the seat belt slipping and then the harness? Or am I see this wrong?
I so wish we could demo them with our babies. Gosh I know how picky I am being but ordering online and having to pay to ship back just can be so costly.
My friend is saying just crate him Oh heck no she didn't say that to me! lol, Swear I am not some crazy lady just trying to cut down some expense the first time around. I have a few hundred dollars in harnesses he hated and hubby is starting that glare at me. I wish I had gone to the dog expo when in town so would have tried all in one spot. :(

Well I have the Pet Gear seat, use to have both sizes but got rid of the smaller one because I liked that the bigger had more room for Mitzy to get up strech and sprawl out if she wanted. And it fits great in my front seat if I want it to. The seat belt on the Pet Gear goes under the seat and hooks around the bottom so it won't slip out. I only use one strap (I think there are two in case you have two dogs) when riding with her and usually use a Puppia vest harness or her Buddy Belt. I keep the other strap in my glovebox in case we go somewhere without her seat. Then I just hook the strap to a buckled seat belt and hook her to that and she sits in the back seat.
You could crate him as well, that's probably the safest way honestly. But we like our fluffs to ride in style and comfort :p I actually crate my cat when we travel and he is fine. It has enough room for him to move around and I don't have to worry about hi climbing all over my car
I had the same issue as you did when trying to buy a carseat.. It took me forever. I think they will all work about the same, just go with what you like best. Mitzy is 9 pounds so probably the same size as Max and I felt she didn't have enough room in the smaller Pet Gear seat. It was great for in town trips but me and husband travel alot and the bigger seat was perfect for those long day trips.
Hope you can decide on one and LOVE it the first time :);)

I'm not sure what you mean about the seat belt slipping - the lap part of the belt is what goes through the seat and what the harness attaches to with the strap. It stays put. I've never had it slip. I actually just walked out to my car in the garage and yanked on the harness strap a few times. Wouldn't budge! Hope that helps...

Oh, well, it was one thing when you wanted to tie Carol to the luggage rack, but now you're just getting MEAN! ;)
I got to leave work early this afternoon to go to the dentist...sad that I actually looked forward to that. And don't even mention social security, Carol - at the rate things are going, I'm going to have to work til I'm 85! (what's another 55 years or so, anyway...?)

the two straps I have them as small as I can go and still to long :confused: I guess I can start knotting it up but would think it should be ok on length to tether .
Oh Carol I am not hanging you to the hood unless it would in some beneficial way, like the dog's need room ect but in that case you can drive Ill get on the roof :) hehe

I have the Kurgo Skybox Booster seat from Petsmart. My two both fit in it and they love it. It's deep and they can even curl up and go to sleep in it.

Those made me nervous and I know many swear by them. I was worried they might have a "Bounce" to them as nothing under to brace them. I never tried them , I went by quite a few members on this sites using two brand's alot :)

HEY!!!!!! Anyways I took Max for his first trial run in the seat boy did he hate it :lol2::lol2: I just drove around for about 20 mins and went to get some Ice Coffee in the drive through. He was ok as long as I stroked him but boy was he mad at not sitting on my lap he did not even want the frozen yogurt :(:( he normally gets when I get my coffee.
But he had calmed down and was fine.I am just going to make small fun trip's until he can get use to not sitting on my lap but boy is it nice him in his seat.I had to not laugh because he was just pouting like a little kid was pretty funny.

That's too funny! Hopefully, he'll adjust quickly and decide that he likes it. Emma loved hers from the very beginning. She climbed into it and curled up as soon as I took it out of the box, before I ever put it in the car! ("Mine mine mine"...LOL) Anyway, I'd never driven with her in my lap - before the seat, when she was really tiny, she rode in a carrier bag. Did you get the strap adjusted? Em's is plenty short and can be shortened/lengthed with the plastic buckle thing... She just rode in hers for an 8+ hour drive to NC and back and was a very good girl (except when the car stops - then she fusses!)

Thanks for checking back on us :) Yes all set the strap's is ok now I did have to shorten it , I am thinking since I get Max the bigger size is maybe why so long? He could have used the one Emma's size but this is fine and will have room for pup two when they come along :lol2::lol2::lol2:
Max loves it now as do I, the next day he was fine (I put a picture up on my page of him sitting it in) The car seat I will say other then Buddy Belt smartest buys I have bought for him, He does fine but the weather has been just to hot even driving with air on the inside of my car is black is as same with his car seat it's just to hot with the sun beating down on him.
I can't see not having one ever now, and just so practical. Thank you for so much help on this topic. Surprising but everyone who has seen it or heard me talk about have even said thats really smart and not even foo-foo like :lol2::lol2::lol2: That was from my German Shepard friends

LOL - I'm glad that everything is working out! I bet you're right that it's longer because of the bigger size. I forgot that you got one bigger than Em's. Emma is 5 pounds and I could easily put another 5-6 pounder in the small seat with her. But one pup is about all that I can handle at the moment!

Oh I am sure you can add one more, we will be soon also have our breeder and everything all set for when the time comes, as my German Shepard is 13 and now on pain meds to keep him comfy so at this time right now not fair to him,
Max is not as big as I think he took a 4 in the Buddy Belt also so maybe its just all his hair making him look bigger he has a afro going on as his coat grows out:lol2:

I have three in the back of my car and my fluffs love them (there's only 2 in the picture, I added one for my new baby girl Bella). They can see outside and most of the time they just fall asleep just like kids do. It secured to the head rest and the seat of the car. It does not move at all. You can even tie your fluff in it if you want.
I have one similar to "doggylover" only it has blue on the inside. My two love sitting in it together, but I'm thinking it's almost time to get another one since they're getting bigger. I wonder if they'll still want to sit in it together? :)
