Jules ~ Update Post #40

Ok, I promised the hubby I would not look but I found myself looking again at petfinder and I came across this little gal of eight years old. I have no self-conrol and sent them an email inquiring about her. She lives in the south of Florida and it would be a good 5 1/2 hour drive but she looks worth it! What do you guys think???? I know she is older but then you know I am into older dogs anyway. I'll keep you updated! I think I'm in love!:hearter::hearter:Hubby thinks I am just plain crazy! :tongue:

I did call today and wasn't able to reach the rescue so I will try later. But this little girl is a breeder's dog but well cared for and socialilzed according to the email I received back this morning. I will see what happens..........I just want her well-cared for the rest of her life! Hopefully, she will fine a forever home that will give her tons of love.......even if it is not with us! :)

:(:(:( Well I finally heard back from them.....she said she had many inquires about Jules and many applications for her and another maltese they have. She said she had several more and I have seen them on Petfinder but I was only interested in Jules because I was afraid she would not be adopted out and stay in foster too long.....she is eight years old. So now that she has pretty much said that she has a home for Jules.......I'm fine with that and happy for little Jules. But I gave it a good try.....:D

So I just want to say thanks for all the encouragement and help from my MT Family!!!

I guess because when you have "A LOT" of maltese, you just can't keep them in hair! :( :( :(

I am letting their coat grow again. And it looks like it was a good thing to clip them short as their hair is growing back much thicker and softer!

I did it just for the summer, and just body and legs!

TRUE.........I was really disappointed at first that we didn't get her but at least I know she is going to find a home! :)

Well, Maggie was so kind to go and visit sweet Jules at the PETSTORE where she is being kept last Saturday. She said she was very mellow and sweet; lost a lot of her teeth from the dental and the asking price was $300.

We gave it a lot of thought because we think she is just adorable but after Maggie measured her, she was a bit tall and "IF" we add a fifth one, we want her to be on the small size. While Jules did not weigh much more than Buffy and Toby, she was just a bit bigger than we wanted. We are holding out for the perfect fifth dog..........."IF" we add a fifth one. Maggie spent a lot of her time checking her over and we finally decided against getting her. :( :( Just wanted to update everyone. Here are a few pictures Maggie took when she made the visit.

Oh and BTW, Jules is being kept at a petstore that sells "puppies" of several breeds some being "teacup." :( :( :( There were several rescues on site as well.

Yes, Maggie was really great to offer to go and check her out. Hubby says to add a fifth dog, she has to be nearly perfect. I mean we have three rescues now, he says I should not settle for another fluff unless I am totally happy. :D :D

Hubby did suggest that I stop looking. I did have a breeder contact me the other day about a retiree!!! I am so yes/no about it. She is a real doll but then you saw her already. We checked into renting a car to go pick her up and it was sooooooooooooooooo expensive. I just hate flying her. :( :( :( AND I'm still not sure I want a fifth fluff......it's a lot of work keeping them in full coat and mine are sooooooo good about grooming, potty trained and getting along. Hubby say why rock the boat!!! I know he is right but I sooooooo want a small maltese.

What is it that makes you hesitate? The flight over? Have you checked the airlines? Are there any direct flights?
We had Q-Tip flown from Tina's! He was quite a bit younger than this girl is and no problem!
