Hi everyone!! It has now been one full week since I had my total knee replacement surgery. I came home Tuesday, late afternoon, and getting situated into the house routine is coming along. I have the walker and raised toilet seat. My new couch with the built-in recliners was a good investment. My home therapy is going very well, my incision is looking very good (22 staples) and the nurse has been here twice already.
A lot of work ahead of me, so it might be days before I'm on again.
They had to cut back on the blood thinner medicine and I get tested again tomorrow for a new dosage.
I don't want to go through this again on my other knee, so major life changes are headed my way.
My first goal is to be on my way to Wisc. with my sister and her family on the 16th. The PT thinks I might be able to go with a cane, not a walker by then.
Every 3 weeks or so I have a new goal to attain for myself. I don't like doing long term goals, and everyone is on board with me on this.
I will be doing a condensed version of the birthday greetings for a while. I just don't know when I'll be on for a while and I don't want to let anyone down.
Hope everyone is doing great on MT and I have missed you all.
Cheryl

**Oh, and Dr. Jack is being so good. He has not left my side, he sits right by the PT and Nurse's side when they are here and watches what they are doing. They both love Jack already.

Glad to know you are doing well Cheryl. I think it is sweet that Jack is doing so well. When I was recovering, Marco would make sure I took my meds, load me into bed, cover me up and put my "nurse dogs" in bed with me.

Hope the recovery just gets better and better for you.

Cheryl don't over do it. Glad your surgery went well. One step at a time. I had hip replacement surgery in 2006 so I know what you are going through.

I am so happy you posted, Cher! :hearter: I hope you continue to get stronger with each day. Your a tough cookie so I know you will be just fine. Don't worry about the birthdays, we should have a back up plan, but then again nobody can take your place, so we will just wait till you can resume your job :D
Sending so many happy thoughts and positive vibes.

Yay Cheryl. Glad to hear that is finished and you're detemined to get well. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll mend. If you don't have any other physical challenges, you should be able to be about with a cane by the time you want to go to your sister's.

I've had both my knees replaced and I'd do it again in a second to be without the pain they caused when they were being hateful!

Good luck to you. I know you'll be much happier.
