Oh my! To make a long story short, a girl that I knew growing up just called to ask about having her dog groomed. I said sure--what kind of dog do you have? Her reply, "a female maltese that just turned a year old"!! She brought her baby in and when I picked her up she just laid her head on my shoulder. The owner said she is a "hugger"! Raley is at work with me and he went NUTS over this little girl! I jokingly told this girl that if she came back and her little girl wasn't here she knew where to find her!! LOL!

Also, I asked her where she got her baby. She said that her aunt breeds them. So, I have found a breeder near me. I had NO idea she was a breeder. Maybe my search will be easier than I originally thought!

My JiJi is a hugger too, but only when she's not barking at someone :D

I literally feel I'm holding a baby.

This breeder is named Shirley. I don't know her last name. I don't personally groom. I am a partner in a pet boutique. **By profession, I am a licensed funeral director and embalmer.**

This pup sure sounds like a cutie!!

Just remember, not all breeders are created equal! And if she doesn't show, that isn't going to help you much, if you want to pursue that later on.

it is a LOT easier to start with nice breeding dogs than trying to 'improve' not great quality. Even though I'm fairly new, I've been able to breed nice dogs right from the start and that doesn't always happen. And once established breeders know they can trust you, many doors and breeding opportunities open up.

Is Raley fixed, btw? how cute that he loves this little girl so much!

Ha ha! Believe it or not, I originally wanted a yorkie. Nothing but a yorkie would do. Since that time I have changed my mind. Several of the yorkies that I have been around are so very hyper. Raley is FAR from hyper. He is also very obedient. Perhaps the yorkies I have witnessed are hyper because they have had no training?? I don't know.

I did find out that the lady who breeds the maltese here is a widow. I just so happen to be the funeral director who buried her husband in February 2008. Small world. Right now she only has males. I will hold out for the right female. I know my little fluff princess, diva, queen, etc....is out there just waiting on me to bring her home!

In my family my maltese is the super duper hyper one and my yorkie is the calm one out of the bunch. And nope there not professionally train but I love the way they act so I'm content. They keep me entertain :D
