Uggg.....Teddy's been so good, using his litter box with the pee-pee pad in it...just a couple accidents....untill.....today!! He's gone in, sniffed, then out 3 feet away and squats!!! What's going on??? I try to not lose my patience with him, he's still a baby....but why the backward steps????? Oh well...try and try again...some day he'll grow up...and make me proud!! LOL

I used to place one pad but she will do it exactly in the edge of the pad. So using a little box is out of the question. I end up using two pad for a tiny Maltese.

Well seeing as Mitzy wasn't fully potty trained until a few months old props to him for being so good at just a few weeks old!!

He is so young that his bladder may not have the strength to hold it long  I've never pad trained so I hate giving advice but I would just keep up the positive reinforcement, treating him when he goes in the litter box and just cleaning up the mess when he doesn't..

I've never litter box trained but I agree with Jess.......he is still young. So I can only suggest that "IF" you catch him in the act, you simply and sternly say, "NO" and pick him up and place him in the litter box and then tell him to "GO POTTY." Hopefully by catching and moving him to the proper spot, he will still have to go pee and finish his business in the right place. THEN PRAISE, PRAISE, PRASIE and give him a small favorite treat.

I have found that if I invest myself into housebreaking they learn quickly. I live, eat and breath like the dog until they "get it."

Hope you don't give up on the little guy.........he'll get it sooner or later, they all do!!!! :)

I dont have any advise then keep at it and praise and praise and more praise. The more goofy you act the better. I look like a loony toon saying how happy I am when they pottie.

Max refused to use pee pads at around 4 month's. I wanted him able to be able to pottie inside if to cold for as in IL/WI state line so gets really cold in winter and worried about him going out. Well he wears a little jacket in the winter and goes outside with his brother no matter what the weather.

I thought he would be to "delicate" to go outside well boy was I wrong he loves the snow and if to cold he pee's and runs back in all.

And we also bought him a inside grass pad for him to use another waste of money he hated it! He peed next to it on floor out of spite :lol2: Those things that fake grass hurts, no wonder he didn't want to stand on it.

Anyways keep it up and just praise praise praise! I jump around and look like a weirdo and sound like one but hey it work's :D:D

Thanks everyone...guess I just needed to vent...I already act like a looney person when he pees in his litterbox...LOL And yes, I praise, praise, praise and he gets a treat...the first week he caught on fast...he'd go in his box, stand, make sure I saw him, then run over for a treat...no peeing!! Little stinker! He's doing better today...back to normal...maybe it was because I was off the past 5 days, and not the normal routine?? He wasn't crated much, only at nighty night time...
I won't give up on him...never!! He's smart...just a baby yet...and he tries...I have to give him that!
I'm to trying to potty train him inside...thinking of winter coming...I had to carry my Yorkie down and back up the steps his last 5 years...and I've falled twice, broke my ribs on Christmas day!! But he was worth it! So...hoping to avoid outside potty time this winter...we'll see...
