New to MT, but YT Addict!

Hello everyone!

My name is Sara and my pup is Rylie! She's a Morkie (or Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier Mix). She was born 8/10/10 and came home to me 11/11/10. She's such a good girl and has added joy to my life I didn't know I was missing. <3

She knows how to sit, lay down, come, kisses, fetch, drop it, leave it, dance, speak, and very tentatively release/stay (we just introduced this one today after she got out of the house :( ). She can do all these in the house without distraction, but I've found she doesn't listen if there is too much going on (this became obvious when she didn't "come" after she got out). She had her first haircut this week and looks gorgeous! She did super well, but I was a wreck (there is posts on YT to evidence this :p ).

I love her to pieces and learned a lot from YorkieTalk, but I was informed by a fellow member there and Morkie lover that MT was a bit more accepting of my mixed baby! I'm excited to become part of this community and promise that I am a yapper! I'm going to get started on posting right now! I just wanted to give a shout out to everyone here. :)

WELCOME TO MALTESE TALK SARA AND RYLIE!!

I have a morkie too!! :) She is almost 4 and her name is Mitzy. Rylie is just ADORABLE!! Love her coloring. What a smart girl she sounds like too!! I'm lucky if Mitzy will lay down for me :o But what she lacks in brains she makes up for in LOooooVe :hearter::D

Mitzy definatly has a yorkie personality ALL the way!! She loves to hunt small animals like rabbits and especially squirrels and she barks barks barks!!

Were not as big as YT is but were a very close knit family who looks out for each other ;) I first joined YT but soon found MT and have been ever since. I will occasionally visit YT but MT is my home now :) Welcome to the group!!

You will become like family here on Maltese Talk they are friendly and very supportive. I have a Morkie, Belle who also has the Yorkie personality of her mother but looks more like the Maltese side. She can be a sweetheart or a stinker, think she has 2 personalities;) She's 2 years old and we love her so much. We lost our Lab last Sept. and Belle has been sad as we are. We finally decided she needed a sibling so we are going this Saturday to pick up our new baby boy Sammy. Sammy is a 12 week old Maltese and adorable. I have been busy shopping cause of course, boys can't wear pink or sleep with pink blankets or in pink beds....you probably get the idea:) Your baby looks adorable, can't wait to see more pics. Again, Welcome and enjoy MT!

I don't know how it is in YT, but I've read several posts on here about people's questions not being answered on there soooo, GLAD YOU CAME TO MT!! And wow, Rylie sure sounds like one smart furbaby!! LOVE her name too, I've always heard boys named Rylie, but it suits a girl perfectly too!! Post videos if you can showing all her tricks!!:D I love when petparents show off their little one(s)!!!!! Welcome again and I can't wait to read all the yapping!! :lol2:

I LOVE the name Mitzy. Absolutely love it! May have to consider it for our second baby HA. :D

I love her coloring too! Part of the reason I went Morkie actually. :) Rylie has a more Maltese personality, but her Terrier comes out every once in awhile... generally when she gets really stubborn and starts to bark :tongue:

I'm still active on both boards atm and will probably continue to be. I'm really active right now because I'm off of school. My post rate will probably decrease when grad school starts up again. :) Thanks for the welcome!

Be sure to post pics of your new baby boy! :) Yeah... pink is not so good when everyone already assumes they are all girls. To be fair I was guilty of this before I got a small breed dog too! :blush:

Thanks for the welcome! If you ever need a lab breeder (I know you're getting a new baby, so it wouldn't be soon) my aunt has gorgeous labs and good lines. I would have gotten a lab, but unfortunately I'm allergic.

She TOO smart sometimes :tongue: lol. I haven't figured out video posts... I think my camera can take short video clips. I'll try that sometime! It's a good idea. A whole new way to show her off haha! :D

Thanks! I think she's the cutest thing ever, but then again I'm biased :D

My mum's friend has a maltipoo (well 2 actually) and they are very cute. I just liked the idea of coloring and such that I could get with a morkie... plus I saw a little guy in a pet store and just fell in LOVE (I didn't get him because he was from a mill :( ). After that though, I wanted a morkie. :)

Thank you for the welcome! Better later than never right? :D Thanks! She's looking a little less than cute because she hasn't had a bath in 2 weeks due to her spay. I took her to the vet on Monday for an incision check and they said to wait awhile longer before a bath. Poor icky Rylie! :tongue:

Love big dogs! My aunt breeds labs. She has an excellent program. Unfortunately, I'm allergic and have asthma issues so I can't be around GS's or Labs :( Luckily though I can be around hair dogs (like Morkies!) without dying! :D I also don't need to be hopped up on benedryl. Now my cat, she's another matter. :rolleyes:
