Hi everyone, I'm looking to get a little advice on breeders.
I am hoping to get a Maltese puppy as my second dog. I have a 10 month old Yorkshire Terrier and want her to have a playmate. Unfortunately, I purchased Trixie from a place called Puppy Petite in Brooklyn, NY that I just found out deals with puppy mills. Thanks goodness Trixie is completely healthy but I read many sad stories online of people who purchased puppies from this place and weren't so lucky. I don't want to make the same mistake twice so if anyone could recommend me a responsible Maltese breeder on Long Island or within the five boroughs I would really appreciate it. Not looking for show quality blood lines here, just a happy, healthy puppy to welcome into our family.
Thanks again!

I would start with searching breeders listed in the Maltese Association. Here's the link

Hopefully someone can direct you to a specific breeder.

Thank you, I will look into that. If anyone else has any personal experiences with a breeder I would really appreciate a recommendation. Thanks!

I agree with Jessica, start looking at Breeders on the AMA list for you area. I know several breeders that I would recomment but none are in your area.

I will tell you this, you will NOT regret getting a maltese as a second fluff!!!
