Ok I have given the Iams Tartar Control Treats to my kids in the past! However, I looked on the bags I have and Wheat Gluten(sp) is the first thing listed and I heard that was the ingredient that was now causing problems too! I called the company and they assured me that it was not tainted in the treats only in the canned stuff! I'm still a little worried about it. Anybody out there hear 'ANYTHING' about this or know a site I can check for it????

I haven't heard about any recalls on it, but I do know that Dingo treats had a recall...If you have ANY doubt in your mind, then I would probably say not to give them the treat. Whenever they said spinach was contaminated with E.Coli, I stopped eating ALL spinach, not just the ones that they recalled. Although I think they ended up taking all spinach away at one point...
Anyway, it seems like they keep adding more foods/treats/prescription foods to the list.
I'm sure that when people were calling in that their dogs/cats were sick just before the recall came out, they were saying the food was fine even though they already knew that animals were getting sick for a couple of months.

There are so many treats out there that are good for them, I wouldn't risk it. Since Miko can't really eat treats like most other dogs, we only give natural treats, ie. green apples (peeled and cut into small pieces), watermelon (no seeds), yogurt, cheerios (Emma likes them, Miko doesn't anymore), little pieces of bread, veggies). You might give some of those a try while this whole thing boils over and they get things straight in the pet food industry.
I hope your babies are okay!!!

Anyone tried the "White Bites" dental treats? Macy and Jazzy really like them and they like a dental treat by Hartz called "Tiny Bonz"

You know there has been so many scares lately with people food and dog foods, it's really starting to happen too much. We had two of the jars of the "bad peanut butter" jars. I'm not going to risk their health if I'm not certain..........and I'm not the Iams Tartar Control treats are ok. If I find out proof positive they are okay.........then I wil give them to the kids!

I also had a jar of that bad peanut butter in my pantry!! Hubby went to eat it one day, and opened the jar, but I guess he forgot about it and left it on the counter. I asked him if he wanted any, and he said no...Two days later ( I think), they came out with the recall! So scary...
