Here are two foods that I have run across in my search for a healthy food for Emma. Here are the links to their websites to the specific foods I am considering:
http://www.drharveys.com/dogs/caninehealth.asp
http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/products/preference.shtml
They both are 100% human grade products.
Dr. Harvey's - boil in water for 8 min. and add your choice of meat...He says raw or cooked, but I would only add cooked.
The Honest Kitchen (Preference kind)- it's dehydrated food - add water and add your choice of meat...
Honest Kitchen does sell foods other than Preference that have raw meats in it. The food I would use is the VEGETARIAN one called PREFERENCE that you add your own meat to (cooked, of course :) )The website says that they cook the meat up to 120 degrees, as required by the FDA. It is made in a human food facility, not a pet food plant.
Dr. Harvey's only sells one kind of food, and it is meat-free because they want you to add your own meat.
Can you take a look around their websites and see what you think? I know I want to try one or the other, but I just want to see what everyone's opinions are :)
P.S. I want to stress that I won't be feeding any raw meats!! I know that's the first thing everyone is going to mention :)
