Alex loves to go to the mail box with my husband. He went this morning. This afternoon he did not want to go with him. I was doing the dishes and he came to sit next to me when my husband asked him to come with him. Not even the leash made him move. So we finished the dishes and I went with them. We took the stroller with us. He walked to the mail box but was reluctant to walk back, so we put him in his stroller. He is walking slowly lately. I am almost sure now that he is loosing his hearing. I think it comes and goes.

Will be 14 end of May.

I totally know what you are going through. We lost of Lab is September and the months leading up to that were the same. Noticing that he was walking slower and different changes in his habits. It's hard to think about but we have focused on the long life he had and the good times he gave us and what a good brother he was to Belle. I also know for a fact that we will see TJ again and he'll come loping up to meet us and everyone else better stand back. I take comfort in knowing that TJ knew how very much we was loved.

Oh Janine!! Hopefully he was just having one of those days.

My parents lab, when she was older, had certain days where she would literally not move from her bed all day but they next day she was fine and running around chasing birds!! Maybe he just needed a day of rest!!

He sure is one fine looking fella for 14!! ;)

I will say Alex does not look a day over 5 :hearter: Reality is, he is 14 and probably most of the time he is tired :( My mother in laws dog slowed down a bit around that age, but he lived to be 17 . I think this should be expected with his age, but I am sure Alex is fine, I think he was just saying he was a bit tired that day! :hearter::hearter:

Awww, Janine, it does put us on the alert when they don't want to do one of their favorite things and of course WE WORRY!! But like the others have said, maybe he is just a bit tired these days, maybe it is the weather or maybe he was just in a "chill" mode! He looks great for 14 years old!! You would never know he was that much of a "seasoned" fluff! I can only hope that all of mine live to that ripe ole' age!

I sure hope he is feeling better today and big hugs to you both! :)

Yesterday we went to the Home & Garden show so we didn't take him to the mail box. But my husband went with him this morning and he did fine. He loves to make his rounds in the garden. But he wants me to come too.
