Tragic Loss Today

Today we got the worst call, Josh's mom's Yorkie had escaped from their yard and was mauled by the neighbors German Shepherd. His parents had just come home to find that their Yorkie, Zoe, and Poodle, Brady, and escaped and encountered the neighbors Shepherd. Brady is ok, witnessed the whole thing though, poor guy, but Zoe is gone :( The neighbor had tackled the dog to try and get to Zoe but it was too late.

Wednesday was Zoe's 5th birthday :( :(

Its so shocking and terrible. We were expecting his parents lab to be the next to go as he is old and having a hard time getting around for the last year so this has hit hard and we are hoping that Luke, their lab, can hold on for a few more months so we don't lose another family member so soon after this tragedy.

I'm asking for prayers for the family, it was so unexpected and has taken us all by surprise.

How awful Jess. I am so very sorry. How horrible..there is never a good way to lose a family member, but that is one of the worst ways possible. Just makes me sick.

Awwww, Jess............I am sooooooooooo sorry that this tragedy happened to your family. :(:(:(It is just horrible when things go wrong and such a terrible thing happens to one of our fluffs. They must be devastated and in shock. I am truly sorry!!!

Thanks everyone. It was really hard when we got the call, Josh's mom is just like me when it comes to her fluffs so she is taking it very hard.

Unfortunatly there isn't anything they can really do except file a report with the city which won't do much but keep it on file. Both of the dogs (Zoe and the German Shepherd) were out of their yards and on no specific property. I do wish that there was a way for that dog to be labeled "dangerous" though. I blame the owners though, they keep that shepherd locked in their backyard all day with no interaction at all :mad:

Its really hard on my mother in law. They had went shopping and on their way home stopped for lunch and were literally driving by on their way home and saw what was going on. So my MIL blames herself for not going straight home :( :( She feels if they hadn't of stopped they would have been home in time to catch them getting out :( :(
