Hi and welcome!
I am sure that happens more than we know (accidental breeding) when a show breeder has two breeds they are involved with. So you have a well-bred Morkie coming home :)
A definite cutie and looks like will be the best of both breeds.

Well, Aslan is Lion in Turkish :lol2:
Many of my friends think I take the name from Narnia, But I have that name in my mind since I'm 7 years old :D And That's when My baby brother born :lol2: I want to name him Aslan, Axel, or Micha... and my mom agree to name him Michael :hearter:
I am very excited too! I'm still looking for a shampoo that can make his black and white coat looks awesome. Maybe I'll use Bio Groom.. since people recommend it and smell nice.. Or maybe Hartz's shampoo, some people also recommend this brand.. But I'm not sure what I will buy :lol2:

If you got grief it was because there are breeders out there who do deliberately breed mixed breeds for profit and by buying one, it supports their breeding practices. This was an accidental breeding - bit of a difference. And often, the dogs used to create morkies do not meet the standard of either breed, so who knows what you will get.
I'm sorry people were rude - that's too bad that it happened to you. Just know it's not frustration with you, but frustration for the breeders who breed for profit only and charge big bucks for the 'designer dog'.

I'm volunteering for a local rescue group, Jakarta Animal Aids Network. Most of the case we have is owner can't take care of the dog anymore. Some dogs caught by city's animal control. We put them into foster homes and treating them medically. Just last October we rescue 6 Golden retriever dog from a puppy mill and proceed to close it down. We still try to fight puppy mill and encourage people to buy from registered or recommended breeder, than a pet shop. Some petshop is kinda good, because they have their own kennel and have a good relationships with other breed registered breeder. :)
When I'm looking for Morkie's infos I can't help but surprise that Morkie's has its own breeder  But its not a registered breed, so why they have breeders, that's what I thought. I know people have reason to pissed on the breeder[puppy mill], I just can't grab why they mad at my when all I do is asking what to do with a Morkie pups. And I already explain that this pup is accidental case, not in purpose breeding... :(
Well, I already forgetting about that. I find a better place to ask and learn, here! :hearter: I might never found this forum if those people treat me nicely :lol2::lol2:

Here in the United States, 'designer dogs' are a big business for unethical breeders. Unfortunately, starts like Jessica Simpson have made it 'trendy' to own a designer breed so there is a market for them. Morkies and maltipoos are very popular mixes here in the US, and yes, some breeders will try to convince the unsuspecting public that these are 'real' breeds. And as I said previously, typically the breeding stock for the mixes are not well-bred dogs of either breed, so you really take you chances.
This is not the case for you, since your friend has nicely bred dogs to begin with.
when I was first looking for my first 'pet', I wanted to get a maltipoo, because i figured if it was good enough for some of the celebrities, it was good enough for me. Then a friend of mine told me if I was going to pay those big bucks, it made sense to get a pure bred, and boy, it really did, when put like that. So I wound up getting a maltese and best decision of my life!
This could easily happen at my house (an oops) because while my daughter and I are at shows, my 13 yr old son is the one taking care of the dogs. But up until now, I just had females so it didn't matter if one was in heat but now that I have an intact male, it's going to be a bit more risky. Luckily, my daughter has been showing the male so he's always with us at shows!
I am sorry you were made to feel bad on another forum. Some people just get so high on their preaching about responsible breeders that they forget that the buyers are people too and that there are some exceptions to this (like what happened to your friend)

Welcome to MT and I'm very happy you feel so comfortable here already. This is the best little forum out there and the best group of fun loving pets you'd ever find on this great place called Earth.
Your little Aslan is a real handsome looking little guy. Best of luck with him and enjoy all the love and fun you'll have for many years.
My name is Cheryl and I have a male Malt named Jack. He adopted us when he was 4 1/2 months old. He was already at a shelter at 4 months and when my son picked him up at our fist meeting, Jack put his head on his shoulder and just sighed. That was it, best buddies forever at that point and he came home with us.
I put Aslan's birthdate on my calendar. I'm the birthday greeter for the forum, so he'll get a greeting from us on his special day.
Keep those pictures coming....we love it.

Hello Jack's Mom :D
Thank you, and I bet your Jack is very adorable!
I can't wait to spend my time with my Little lion ha3x :D
That so sweet of you! Here, well at least the rescuing group I volunteering, not a typical rescue group. Because instead of shelter, we use foster homes :)
Actually I'm kinda surprise when my friend told me that Aslan b'day is 17 December, the same as my little sister, Elisa! :lol2:
