anyone had any experience or have any knowledge of this sort of surgery?

I am booking Scrappy in to have this done. I have procrastinated for 18 months about having him put under for what is essentially cosmetic surgery but it really does need to be done.

Please tell me there is nothing to worry about and that it is a simple operation. :(

I don't have any experience in this but my vet did not recommend it at the time Alex had bad tear staining. He said the ducts have a tendency to [there is a word for it but can't remember it] but basically it means that they close again. We had the tear ducts flushed when he was neutered. Did not help much either.

Thanks Janine I was also told that too but in Scrappy's case they think because they are so badly blocked that it is worth the risk of them closing again. When he had the dye put in his eyes it is supposed to run out the nose or come out the mouth. In his case the dye was nowhere to by seen... well it was lol it was all around his eyes he had yellow eyes for a few days till it eventually washed away.

Scrappy--Jack hopes everything goes ok. I've never heard of that type of surgery but it sure sounds like he needs it, the poor little guy. I think Mom is going to be more nervous than anyone. Please keep us well informed with his recovery.
Good luck Scrappy.

My poor Scrappy:( So sorry to hear about his blocked tear ducts. Let us know as soon as you have the surgery scheduled. I'm praying that once he has the procedure it'll be much better for him. I understand about putting him under anesthesia again, I get nervous each time our babies are getting ready for surgery.

Keep us updated.
