Hi,
My maltese, Daphne, has greasy dark pink to black stuff in the corners of her eyes which is causing staining.
Does anyone have any idea what this is and a natural treatment for it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I don't like seeing her face like this, I don't think she's in pain but it must annoy her
Thanks
Sharon

Hi Sharon! Your baby is a little over 10 weeks right? I think that Daphne may be going through some teething at this point. She's too young to so any kind of antibiotic therapy. The only natural thing I can think of is just to wash the eye daily to keep it clean. You can also use wipes. I sometimes use a teeny bit of cornstarch to keep the face a little drier.
I'm sure that you'll get other great advice. Good luck!

Hi Sharon,
For now your baby is to young to start anything like Angel Eyes or Tylan. You can buy some fresh eyes and squirt a drop or two in the eye and clean with a cotton ball.
What I do is I use a butter comb and gently comb through it to get the stuff out of the eye and then clean it with the fresh eyes. Nemo rarely has any cause I comb throught it everyday!

I agree with Andrea, Fresh Eyes is a great product to use.
