I guarantee this will be an eye opener for everyone. Even those of us who feed high quality dog food. The pet food companies know all the tricks to get us to believe that their food is different, but I'll let you read the article. Please post your thoughts...

They touch on "natural" and "organic" foods stating that even though they are organic and natural or hormone free, it's usually still the leftover that get used and bones (ie ribs and such) are allowed...no breast meat.
Also, they talk about how the cooking process kills many of the nutrients that should be in the food...

While it was quite extensive to read through, it was very interesting and informative. Below are two things that I picked out of the article that caught my eye. After reading the information, I am still comfortable buying Natural Balance products.

1. Although the cooking process kills bacteria in the ingredients, the final product can pick up more bacteria during the subsequent drying, coating, and packaging process. Some experts warn that getting dry food wet can allow the bacteria on the surface to multiply and make pets sick. Do not mix dry food with water, milk, canned food, or other liquids.

2. Dental disease. Contrary to the myth propagated by pet food companies, dry food is not good for teeth.8 Given that the vast majority of pets eat dry food, yet the most common health problem in pets is dental disease, this should be obvious. Humans do not floss with crackers, and dry food does not clean the teeth.
