Yesterday my Mom took Babe in for his a.m. loving (quality time) and he found the buttons on her p.j.'s and went for them...she tried to stop him and he bit her hand in 2 places.
I told my Mom before to wear the rubber gloves sprayed w/ Green Apple spray to stop him from trying to chew or bite her fingers. She wouldn't do this.
My Mom feels that Babe is trouble, and wants him to go.
I have explained to her that he has a troubled past that we must work thru...and it will take time. That she must follow my advice to her re: his management for now.
Growling: If you approach him and he is near a toy (even a foot away) he will growl thinking you are going to take the toy.
Hoarding Toys: Babe has issues w/ learning to retrieve because he wants to keep the toy and not share.
Yesterday I gave him extra tennis balls (his favorite of the week), and placed them all on the floor. Then I picked one up in his view and rolled it for him. He was dying to play, but didn't know which ball to bring near me. I knew he would be confused, but was trying to show him I didn't want his toys. I wanted to play w/ him; that all his toys would be on the floor; that no one was taking anything from him.
How do I get him to share and play w/ me?
Advice pls--
Linda
