Just wondering what everybody's favorite brand of harness is. We have a few different kinds but I always seem to grab the DOGO ones first. http://www.dogodesign.com/goods_main.asp?rootid=2&id=39&viewall=true They are super easy to use and come in lots of cute styles. I just bought the baseball ones for the boys for the Spring. :)

So far I love the east side collection ones. The way they are designs works for Sofia. But then again I have bought only one and she has that one since she was a puppy. Same with the retractable leash.... I am more into her coat, that is why I don't spend money on leash and harnesses. :o.... Right now I have to order a new retractable leash and a harness since they are both in poor condition.:lol2:

I liked Buddy Belts but one flaw with a step in harness like that is if they pull back during a walk they can get it to pull out and slips over head while allowing them to get loose.
So I am back using the little Nylon ones from Pet-Smart then I don't feel bad letting them get them all dirty plus can swap color's anytime.

Well, I'd get up and look at the brand but both babies are sleeping on my feet right now. I got mine for both at Petco. They are the little vest ones. Sammy's has blue stripes and Belle's has pink. I love them as they will support them securely if I had to lift them quick to get away from another big dog. They fasten on the back with a snap in buckle and then a velcro tab and they have 2 D-rings for the leash to go through. No getting away from mommy with these. I got Belle's when she was just under 3 pounds and it still fits her today.

I use step in harnesses that i ordered from an online doggie boutique http://shoptickledpinkboutique.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=Harnesses. She would also custom make them if you wanted something different.

Well I'm a harness addict. I have or have tried almost everything out there  Seriously. These are the few I really like and use the most that have the least amount of matting.
My all time favorite is the Buddy Belt (http://buddy-belts.com/home.asp). I got it last year when Mitzy's coat was long and it was great on her hair. Its the harness I use most frequently and for everyday walks.
I also really like the rolled leather harnesses by Poochee (http://www.gollygear.com/pch_lth_harn.htm)and Hip Doggie (http://stores.pamperedpetboutiquellc.com/-strse-1076/Suede-Step-In-Harness/Detail.bok). The only downfall is you can't unconnect the leash and leave the harness on. You have to take the whole thing off the dog. I keep one in each of our vehicles and one in the emergency kit though because they are easy on and off in a quick situation
I also really like the Gooby Luxury (http://www.wetnoseboutique.com/gooby-luxury-stepin-harness.html) harnesses. They are made of this faux lambskin material and its SO soft.
I even made a few of my own Dupioni Silk harnesses because they work so well when Mitzy has long hair. I feel they mat the least out of any other harness, especially on long coats.
Lastly I use the Puppia (http://www.thenewyorkdogshop.com/puesveha.html) vest harness for when we ride in the car. I really like how thick it is, how it covers alot of area on her chest, and that it clips AND velcros in the BACK. It makes me feel safe that if the car were to flip or she flew out of her car seat that she would not be harmed when caught becuase of the large area of body it covers.

I like the Lulu Pink step-in harnesses for walks, etc. Emma has three of those. They fit her well and seem comfortable and secure.

In the car, I use this padded vest harness connected to the tether in her car seat:
Car Harness (http://www.gwlittle.com/product/padded_car_vest_harness_for_dogs/dog_car_harnesses)
And if I'm just taking her for a quick "potty break" outside in someone's yard while visiting, or just want to keep her close to me in the house, I use Cha-Cha Couture's vest harnesses or dress harnesses like these:

I like the Hip Doggie ones because you can detach the leash that comes with it in case you want to use a coupler or a retractable leash :wink5:

The only harness I have are the ones made of the duponi silk by chattiesmom on Yorkie Talk. I really don't use them often . . . . . only when we travel so I can secure them in their car seats. They are the step-in type and seem to work fine. Again, I haven't used the harnesses now for about a year when we took our last trip with them to Atlanta. So guess they will never wear out at that rate!!!:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:

Jess, I have learned from this forum that you can never have too much of anything when it comes to our babies. And yes the power of suggestion is very evident here (someone should do a study of us):lol2::lol2: Someone mentions something new and we immediately start thinking of all the reasons we need that item too and begin shopping for it. Are we compulsive or what?
My hubby would have a theory on that but I don't think we want to hear it, it's just better our way:lol2::lol2:

I try to make harness vests that are pretty and have a lining conducive to not harming their coat. If they have to wear them, they should be pretty, and functional at the same time.
I checked them out for years and finally gave up. My friend has a yorkie that her coat is all rubbed off where the strap harness fits on her body.
She only likes a certain kind of harness and it is not good for the dogs coat. Have to check everywhere.

I just bought a Puppia harness at my groomers and it is so easy to get on and off! It is also soft so I can leave it on her for a few hours when she is going in and out during the day.

Oh, that sounds SOOO cute with the fur!!! That's nice that your groomer sells them - or on second thought,...maybe that will be too tempting! Every time she goes to be groomed you will want to buy her a new one! :D

I am always looking at sites for new harnesses but I always come back to the ones I get from Petco. They are pup crew brand and they are like little vests that they step into and they fasten on the back with a velcro tab and a snap plus double D rings for the leash. Belle still has the same one she had when I got her. Sammy had to have a little bigger one but they are really cute and really safe. The velcro can be a problem with Sammy's long hair but that's getting trimmed off this week so then it will be fine.

OH MY GOSH!! I usually get Fifi the WalMart ones but those are so cute. I'm so tempted to buy some right now! I always get that kind because I feel like it's more comfortable for her and it doesn't hurt her neck or back. :)
