I know several of us use potty pads for our babies. I have a regular one that I use when I'm cleaning the bigger one. The bigger one is one of those that comes with the fake grass, which I threw away, I mean how do you pick up poop on that stuff:( I found another product when looking at the site of the people I got Sammy from and there was another kind of pad that I am going to get. It's just like a regular potty pad but it has a flexabile grate on top and you just put the pee pad under the grate in the tray. When they pee, the urine goes through the grate and they never get any on their feet. When they poop on it, just pick it up with a kleenex and flush it away. The one I have now Is divided into 2 so I have to fold pads to put in the tray. It's okay but just one pad would be better. They are so easy to clean, I take the grate and tray and put it in the tub and spray it with a cleaner, let it sit awhile and hose off with hot water. Really easy and the dogs catch on right away. Even Belle will finally walk on the grate. I had to put a pad on top for a while then I would gradually fold it smaller until I took it off. There is also a video or pictures that show how they are made right here in Minnesota. I found them with a yahoo search of tinkle tray. Check them out, they are nice.

Shees I just place the pee pads on the floor. I might need to look into that.

I have a Ugodog potty for Emma. She always destroyed (as in shredded into teeny tiny pieces) the pads when she was a puppy so I had to find something that would keep her from physically getting to them. The fake grass completely grosses me out though so I wasn't about to use that. Em's breeder suggested the Ugodog and it has worked great. The bottom piece is a plastic tray that holds the pad. Then two plastic grates fit on top of that. The pee goes through the grates to the pad and the poop I just pick up with a tissue. The potty is super easy to clean - just toss it in the tub or take it outside and wash with a garden hose.

I LOVE this idea!! I just googled Tinkle Tray (which is just the cutest name!) and it came right up. Nikki is outdoor trained but Kodie is pad trained. Bless his little heart, he just loves to pee on the EDGE of the pad. :( I guess he thinks it counts if 2 of his paws are on the pad. The pad is on a tray and I have tried overlapping pads, putting pads underneath the tray, but the little bugger keeps doing it and I end up cleaning up urine every day!! This just might be the answer for us!! I love the idea of him not being able to step in his urine. Is the grate really hard or on the softer side? I noticed that they started using newspaper once the pups got used to it. That could be a HUGE savings. I'm definitely going to look into this more. Thank you SO much for posting this because I have never heard of it before. :)

I have looked at these but also thought that the grass would get really gross so I didn't even consider it. I never thought about just tossing the grass and using the rest. It sounds like it's basically the same thing as the Tinkle Tray. Love the idea!

Daisy & Tessa are getting their Ugodog this summer & washable pads that will go under the grate. They are housebroken on disposible pee pads & I'm tired of wiping off those little pee paws each time. Plus I want to be more environmental friendly. Just think about all those plastic pads I've thrown away over the years! :o

There's no grass at all with the Ugodog. Apparently, they think that it's just gross, too! Anyway, it's just a plastic tray, and two plastic grates - nothing else.

I like the idea of the tinkle tray or the ugo dog that way you don't have wet pee pee feet from the pups walking in the wet spots on the pad. I have 4 malts so i'm wondering if the ugo dog would be better since it's bigger. I'll have to think about the size, but i just love this idea...thank you Angel Eyes for starting this thread. :)

The one I have now is big for multi dogs. Same idea but it has the divider in the middle so it uses 2 pads in the tray. I still like it but wouldn't mind trying the tinkle tray

The top grate is kind of flexible so it doesn't hurt their feet. The lady I got Sammy from starts all her puppies on these right away. Sammy was 90% trained when we got him...awesome

I do put the washable pads under the whole tray as Belle thinks 2 feet on the tray counts. Sammy does too but he's at least got the "equipment" to reach the tray. He started the chicken scratching a few weeks ago. Now he thinks he should chicken scratch even if he just walks across the tray. He keeps it up until he gets a treat. I have created a fat little marshmallow man:lol2::lol2:
