This month is the “annual check up” round that is starting here! In the last 2 weeks, 4 fluffs had their shots! Last week it was Q-Tip’s and all was perfect. Q-Tip is fine except he was neutered yesterday so he is sore today.:(
Yesterday I took 3 others and they all handle it really well!:D
The vet cannot believe how calm they are. I was quite proud of them. :D:D
Heart, lungs all fine.
Then we found that Sugar’s back right patella is loose!:( Have to keep an eye on him.
Then Cotton’s turn. He has “flat feet”!! Instead of walking on his “toes” or standing on his “toes” the whole paw is on the ground on one side and the other is halfway there. And we could not stretch his back legs straight to the back!:(:(
So, I was wondering if anybody had ever heard of that?

Goodness you have your hands full.
Now can they just teach JiJi how to behave when she goes to the vet. I never knew about flat feet on dogs never even notice
Is Sugar's condition something very serious?

As far as flat feet, I call it that because I do not know how else to explain it!lol
I have checked around and in the Poms supposedly there is a problem that is hereditary but have not found anything about Maltese.
For Sugar let's hope he stays the way he is and does not have problems later on. Neither one is very old. 2+year old.
All my dogs are very well behaved at my vet's! I am really lucky for that!
Some of them even want to go to the back to say HI!
My vet is sooo good and sooo gentle with all of my guys. Even the big one!

Thank goodness all good news, its great when they behave so well :)
Max has a grade 2 in Left hide and a 1 in Right we tried for last 6 months to see how it responds to alternative treatment but no luck so once Bam is a little calmer (Those two are rowdy as heck) we will be doing the LP surgery on him as I can feel the "Pop" when I pick him up at times, more then I want to admit. He will be alot better off since he is so active after.
Hope Sugar wont need the surgery, saying some prays for your fluff

I had never heard of this in dogs. I hope it won't be something that will bother him as he gets older. I always worry about the vet finding something when we go there. Belle's patellas are able to slip but our vet said it won't bother her for a long time. What's that suppose to make me feel better so I can save up:( I guess we all have to take the chance when we get our little ones. Big dogs have probelms of their own so I prefer the little ones:D

First of all, God bless you!! Holy moly, I don't know how you do it!! I can't even imagine your vet bills either! I always brace myself at the checkout desk waiting for the bill....:o
Glad to hear everything went relatively well but sorry to hear about Sugar's patella and Cotton's feet! I never heard of this condition but I can sympathize because I have really flat feet too!! :lol2: What did the vet suggest you do for it? Do you need to see an ortho specialist or anything?

I've never heard of that problem, Diane. Is it a danger to the health to walk flat footed or just something of concern. I don't know if you have tried any supplements with Sugar to help with the LP but this is just my opinion but I have been giving the girls some supplements designed for the joints/ligaments and I swear by them. It has made a "HUGE" difference in both Brandy and Kallie. Kallie hurt her leg not so long ago so I bought some new suppliments and increased the dose. Well, she is doing tons better and now "running" on that leg much to my dismay. Both Kallie and Brandy have LP.......Kallie has grade 2 and holding. Just a suggestion for Sugar since he is so young. :)

Oh wow, never heard of flat feet....but the patalla's yes, my yorkie had that, and Teddy is just 9 months old and last week his vet told me his right back leg is loose, and the left one is half way there....nothing to do since it doesn't hurt them....no surgury till it gets bad....still...I think my yorkie was 8 years old before he had that problem, a little worrying for me....and Teddy goes for his neutering in another week, scary!! For mom anyway...
