I have noticed Lily mae has been throwing up alot lately.. I only feed her a little bit of food because she inhales it.. She can eat a handful of food in like 30 seconds (no kidding).. ANyway, this morning she threw up and when i cleaned it, it was yellow (looked like bile).. She is going to the vet tomrorow for her distemperment vaccine so maybe I will ask her... Other than this, she seems pretty healthy

I'm glad you made an appointment with the vet. Our yorkie has a very sensitive tummy. He can't eat anything out of the norm or he will throw up as well.
chelsey our maltese can eat anything.. she hardly ever get sick .
until you can get her to the vet just provide lots of water. Please keep us updated with the Vets comments. Sorry I don't have any advise. Maybe she is just eating to fast as well. What you could do for that is hand feed her bit by bit. It will take a while to finish but at least you know that she will chew the food and digest it.

Does your baby eat at night before going to bed? If not that may be the problem. When Sassy was younger she would sometimes throw up in the morning. The vet said she was going too long between meals. He said I should almost insist that she ate before bedtime. She has always been such a picky eater that sometimes she will go forever and only snack here and there. It would probably help if you gave her small amounts of food several times a day. Let us know what the vet says. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Lily eats in the morning and then around 6:30 or so at night... I will keep you posted as to what the vet says!

I took lily to the vet yesterday.. He doesn't think the throwing up is a problem.. he told me if she continues to throw up her food, to wet it down so she wont just swallow it.. I will keep you posted

I'm glad that you took her in to see your vet. Sometimes it is worth the trip just for the peace of mind. Please keep us posted if there are any changes.

I was going to suggest to soak the food if she kept throwing it up. I had a little one that ate fast and had some tummy problems and my vet offered that suggestion so it would not swell inside. Also the heat may be a problem if she is playing much after eating right now?

I'm glad to hear that Lily Mae is still doing well. With these little girls it seems to help to feed more often. Same daily amount just spread out. That way their little tummy's does not get empoty or too full. Glad you hit on the right formula for Lily Mae.

Hey Brooke. Glad Lily Mae is feeling better. What kind of food are you feeding her? Just curious. I've heard Bil Jac is a little too rich for some small puppies

Kristy,
Lily was raised on Diamond but since i couldn't find it anywhere i asked the breeder if I could use Eukeneba... Thats is what she's eating now.. The puppy size

My last maltese would throw up yellow bile if she did not eat well the night before. Glad she is doing better. Be fortunate she is a good eater and hope she stays that way. :)

Kristy,
I made the mistake of giving Sassy a Bil Jack liver treat once when she was younger. Trust me, it only took one treat and that was the end of that. I threw that little carton of treats away so fast it would have made your head swim to watch. She had the worst upset tummy that you could imagine. YUK!
