We have an 11 week old maltese puppy named Rocky that we are super excited about! I have always been a lover of larger dogs, but the first time I got to hold this little guy, he stole my heart. They are just so precious! I haven't owned a dog since living at home with mom and dad (oh... that was so many years ago) And Rocky is our first between myself and my soon to be husband, I'm sure we have much to learn yet but we have been reading up as much as we can for several months now.
I was surprised at how delicate they really are. I feel like I really need to be careful with him and keep an eye on him so he doesn't get hurt. We are having issues with him running up and down the steps, and plan to get a baby gate because we are worried he might get injured from the jumping or possibly falling down.
We also have a 15 year old african grey parrot :) who is a tad jealous of his new little brother, but he's adjusting. Don't worry, they don't play together or anything ;)
Rocky was brought up on eukanuba, and I'm working on switching him to Fromm puppy food instead.
That was probably a whole lot more than anyone wanted to know about us :D but, that's the run down. He's very difficult to take pictures of, no one warned me puppies were so wiggly!
I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how!

:mtwelcome: I can't wait to see pics of Rocky :D
You sound like if you have your hands full with this little guy. I don't know anything about Fromm but hopefully it beats Eukanuba.
Feel free to ask anything we love talking about this little furbutts.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO MALTESE TALK!!!!!
Little Rocky sounds like a really fun puppy!!! And yes, do get the gate asap before he injures himself.......it doesn't take much to get injured when they are so little.
I love to watch puppies play but honestly, they are too much work for me with their "energy" level. But I do love the Maltese breed and have 4 female maltese.........somehow, a male yorkie ended up with us too!! So NOT a maltese but we wuvs him anyway. :hearter:
Glad you joined the forum and I expect to hear a lot of stories and tales about little Rocky in the coming weeks. Looking forward to getting to know you better in the coming months.

Welcome to Maltese Talk and congratulations on your new puppy!
The gate is a must, you are right to want to get one, At that age he could definitely hurt himself.
The Fromm's is a really good quality of kibbles. That is what I feed my puppies.
The only thing is I find that you have to feed them a little bit less than what they recommend as the puppies tend to gain a bit too much and get kind of "fat"! I am not talking about "puppy fat".:-)

Welcome to you and Rocky. Can hardly wait to see pictures, you'll find we all love pictures:D I have a 2 year old Morkie female and she gives me nightmares with her jumping off things. Now our baby is 7 month old Maltese Sammy who has finally learned to jump up on things so of course he jumps down too. His sister is a bad influence:mad: He is so cuddly and loving and such a kisser. Maltese are like little bags of feathers the way they hug right to your body to cuddle.. A gate is a good idea, these little guys seem to have no fear of somethings. I know you'll love your Maltese and it's true, you can't have just one:lol2::lol2:

Gradually he will steal every thing from you. This is the superb breed ever i have adopted or seen.I think psychiatrist should give advice to those who are suffering from loneliness that they should adopt this dog.
