I love everyones babies on here and I want to keep Bentley white too. I was already using distilled water and feeding canidae to my yorkie so he is getting that too now, also The Missing Link. I have ordered white on white shampoo by CC. He has a little tear staining and some around his mouth...what do I do about that? The breeder had been bathing him in baby shampoo. When I got him home I bathed him in minksheen, it worked so good on Hannah (yorkie), but I did not see the same results with Bentley. I will use the Cranberry Fields next time. Any suggestions will be so greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't get the same results on my maltese as I did with the Yorkie using the minksheen either!!! But I am happy with the results on my Yorkie! It sounds like you are doing everything right to me. Keeping the areas clean is the best thing you can do for staining and as the rest of the gals will tell you, the staining will only get worse with the teething. Once he gets his secondary teeth in, there are other things you can do to rid the face of the staining............but you have to wait until after he loses his baby teeth. I use a variety of human and animal products on my maltese. I love the Petsilk and Coat Handler products the best so far. But it all depends on the coats of the maltese; Kallie is very cottony so I use a lot of conditioner on her ends and a leave-in conditioner by coat handler. I ony use a bright white product every two months. I am sure you will get more imput from the other gals.

:D I have never really used a whitener on Nemo.I really don't like them they dry out the coat in my opinion! It's okay to use maybe every 4 or 5 months, but I just dont use it.Nemo has always been pretty much white and stain free, I am lucky. Your baby is beautiful and snowy white..

YOu're doing great! And remember that baby hair will not be the same texture as the adult hair that will come in. I remember the hair on my mom's little boy was almost fuzzy when he was a baby and alway matted so bad especially on his butt, but it's nice and silky now.

I agree about the whitening shampoos, very drying. In fact I don't think I've used whitening shampoo on Chloe yet. She stays very white even though she's alway into everything outside.

We haven't used a whitening shampoo on Emma either. I'm afraid it will dry her hair out, but she's very white. Just make sure to keep the face clean of those eye boogeys and dry everyday :)
We use Coat Handler on our maltese also and have great results with it :)

I use white on white by Chris Christensen maybe once every four months or so. I use Bless the Beast Detangling Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner on my SaraBella an I don't really see the need for whitening shampoo. I think when you find a good shampoo and conditioner whitening shampoo is not really necessary.
Also, if you do use a whitening shampoo make sure to follow with a good moisturizing conditioner otherwise it really dries the coat out and looks awful.

I don't use a whitening shampoo on Alex. One thing to remember is that they look whiter after a bath, and a picture is not always truthful. Depending the light, they can look whiter or darker. And the pictures we show are mostly those where they look their best.

Misha has some staining. She goes to the groomer every 6 weeks. I use the whitning shampoo on her feet every 2 months or so. The rest of the time I wash her face every morning. She never gets treats or food with dyes in them. She drinks distilled or purified water. I tried all the staining pads & none worked for us.
