I just read an article on tear stains on Maltese Maniac. the lady said her Maltese had terrible tear stains and her vet recommended Rosehip Milk. She gave it to her dog for 8 weeks and the tear stains and the stains around the mouth were gone. The vet said you can get it at any health food store. Has anyone heard about this or tried it? I can't find much on the web except that Rosehips are not toxic.
the other product I read about was Tearlax. It's quite expensive but in all the tests it says it works and there is no Tylosin in it. Wondered if anyone tried that or heard about it?

Haven't heard or tried either of those two but Nikki and Kodie really don't have a problem with staining. :) Is Belle staining?

I'm very curious now. I have given up on it but might try that.

Belle gets just a little bit in the corner of her eyes but if I keep washing her face she is fine. Sammy gets more around his mouth than by his eyes for some reason. He's like a dirt magnet so I have to wash his face all the time. I'm thinking about trimming him myself but don't know where to start.

Hmmm, haven't hear about any of those products but guess a little research can't hurt to find out about them. "IF" I find out anything, I'll let ya know! :D

I haven't heard of it. Let us know if it works. I don't have tear stain problems with Sofia unless I get lazy and let it all wet with gunk on her eyes and that is where it would stain.

I know rosehips, we used to do jam with them and it is my favorite jam. But I never heard of rosehip milk.

I've never heard of it, but would love to learn more about it. I have 2 that have been having a problem with staining this year, because of allergies. Riley and Noelle never really had a problem with staining, but it has been awful, i wash their faces 2x day, rinse their eyes out with Bausch and Lomb eye wash and use Similasan Allergy drops in their eyes (the allergy drops are 100% natural), you name i've done it. So definitely would love to know more about Rosehips Milk. I'll see if i can find anything about it and post if i do.
