Hello and Welcome.
You will need to go to a reputable breeder. You will need to talk to them and tell them your wants and concerns. A 3pd Maltese is very tiny and you need to take extra care of them. Most puppies will be between 4 and 6 pds. You are looking at anywhere form 2500 to 3500 for what you are describing. I will give you some links of reputable breeders.

You need to talk with breeders and establish a relationship and let them get to know you.They care where their babies go ..

What other kinds of furkids do you have???? Three/four pounds is really small and hard to find as most breeders like their dogs between the four and six pound. "I Found Nemo" gave you some excellent breeder choices to help you find your baby. When you do, don't forget to update us and show us pics of your new baby.............and you can even show us pics of your present furbabies.

Like the other's have told you you are going to have a very hard time finding a baby in the 3 to 4 pound range. Where do you live? With you wanting one so small it may be a very good idea for you to find one that you can drive and get JMOP. Anyway best of luck to you in your search and please keep us posted as to the outcome...........

I know that they contacted Faye at Bella Maltese and was going to get the baby girl but it fell through. Faye is a very good friend of mine and and is a very good breeder that really loves and cares for her fur kids...I am like all of you in thinking that if someone gets a baby from her they can not go wrong...

Its all about choice. There are so many good breeders out there, I like the look of only 2 or 3 so I am not sure who I am going with. I never knew there was a certain look to each breeders dogs, but since I'm really looking into it I have noticed it..
