Because my Boo-Boo yorkie has liver shunt I have already spent over 2.000 pounds for his meds and stuff and will spend another 1.500 pounds for the surgery so I can only afford 800 dolars to get a maltese. Does anyone have one. It will come to a very loving house. Please, please help me find my baby. Pleaseee help me.

:) Hi,
Please don't take this the wrong way I mean no offence, but you have so much to deal with right now maybe you should wait a little bit and deal with your Boo-Boo:( I think another one might be overwhelming, off course I could be wrong, I just don't want you to get overwhelmed. It's impossible to find a dog here in the US, it would take to long to get to the UK. My friend Elaine is from the UK I will direct her to this thread and see if she can help you...
Best of Luck,
Andrea:)

I agree with Andrea.
You don't know how much time you may have to invest in getting your other one back on it's 4 feet.
Please don't rush into your next pup yet...besides it wouldn't be fair to your Boo-Boo.:(

Please don't be offended but with two yorkies already, if it were me, I would keep the $800 to care for any medical emergencies or just spoiling the babies you already have. They have each other and that is great!!! You have a lot on your plate with caring for the two you have. Enjoy them and maybe down the road, when you least expect it, if it's meant to be, you will have another furbutt to love.

I have a baby with a liver shunt, and the expenses don't stop with the surgery. You have post-op appointments, you have to continue to have your baby bile acid tested and bloodwork and levels checked every couple of months for the first year. Lactulose, denosyl, and special food are usually still required after surgery. Before we found out our baby had a liver shunt, we wanted another furbaby :) We looked and looked and found several breeders that we liked. Then we found out that he had his liver problems, and we wanted one even more to make our baby happy, but decided that it wasn't the best time since we had to dedicate so much time getting used to his condition. Medicine everyday, watching for symptoms, etc. So we had to put that on hold. Almost 2 yrs after he was diagnosed is when we ended up adding our second furbaby to the family :) If it's meant to be, it will be :) Good luck!
I'm not saying you shouldn't get your baby Maltese, I'm just saying

Please do not take this the wrong way but I think that you should wait to get a malt. The expenses do not stop at buying the pup. You have to consider the vet appts., grooming, food, shots, etc. I think that it would be easier on you if you waited a while...

I too think you should wait and keep the money saved for Boo Boo or other medical emergencies. Or save your $800 and keep adding to it. After all you don't what to get a maltese real cheap from a bad breeder to find out that they too develop a problem later which will cost you more money and heartache.

I just read your introduction thread again and it really sounds like you have your hands full with two yorkie pups under 4 months. I'd certainly hold off and make sure there are no other medical surprises with those two before adventuring into another puppy. There is still the expense of spayinge/neutering that needs to be done too, so sounds like you may not quite be ready to take on another pup and the expense. JMO

I'm sorry your little Boo Boo is ill:(

It would be virtually impossible for you to get a pup from the US to the UK for 800, it would cost you more than that on airfare alone & the whole process to bring a dog in from the states to the UK takes around 11 months as we are a rabies free country, if these rules are not followed (& they are very strict rules) then the dog would end up in quarantine as soon as it lands in the UK & this is expensive & the bill would be yours to pay.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but there are breeders over here, it just takes time to get a maltese. I have been on waiting lists for months & months now myself but you may not have to wait as long as i want a girl for show & you may be able to find a pet quality one quicker.

Hi everyone...sorry for not getting back to you with an update earlier. I should have done it but been very busy. Boo-Boo will have his surgery on the 14th may so have been very worried as well.
Just to clarify a few things, I have enaugh money put aside to treat my boo-boo after the surgery and for as long as he needs treatment. The money I was talking about is money that I have put aside myself to buy a maltese. I can understand the maltese are not that cheap so I gave up the ideea at least at the minute. I would not have a problem looking after 3 dogs seeing that I already look after two tho.
Thank you for your answears and be sure they have been listened.
Keep your fingers crossed for my baby's surgery
