Our day at the dog park!

I found this dogpark 5 minutes from where I live, I can't believe I just found it after living here for 2 years! I didn't take too much pictures, I think I was just as excited as LB. I did manage to take some and a short video clip. We are definitely going to make this a weekend habit. Next time I'll take better pictures!

Unfortunately, there was no seperation between the big dogs and the little dogs. I'm right behind LB at all times, either that or she's right by my side. There was one time there were some dogs play fighting with each other and LB came automatically to me for me to carry her. Good girl! I think I'm going to take her real early in the morning. She's was knocked out after our day out. We were there for about 2 hours!

Hey Krystal, I'm making plans for next Saturday. Between 9:00-1:00? They have several trees for shade. They have a drinking fountain, lots of chairs, poop bags, even pooper scoopers!

Here's direction from a website:
This dog park is fenced and is one acre in size. It is open 24 hours and there is some lighting from the nearby ball fields. Parking can be difficult during the day due to the nearby Mesa College. The dog park can be accessed from the 163 freeway (south of 805) at Mesa College Dr. Go west on Mesa College Drive to Armstrong. Turn left on Armstrong to the park.

Make sure you go all the way down Armstrong till you get to the Children's center, then turn right. Parking is good during the weekend.

Cheryl, I was frightened at first! It was her first time. I even had her on leash for about 15 minutes. The other dogs sniffed her and she sniffed them, believe me I was ready to jump in if anything happened, but luckily no problems. I think I will have to do that everytime, since not all dogs are the same. Not to say right now I'm 100% comfortable, but I felt good for her first visit.

We have a dog park near me. There is an annual fee to use it. Maybe I will see how you feel about it after a while and then check in to the one here for Chipper and my daughter's yorkie "Marty"

JUST KIDDING..........sounds like LB is being socialized without knowing it.
We do not have ANY doggie parks where I live but have a community FULL of dogs. We just got our first dog store about a year ago, Pet Supermarket and before the year is out we will have a PETCO! So the demand is here, and I'm so excited about a PETCO!!!

YOU TWO have great fun at the doggie park.......make sure you have pics and a video of the meet up!

For the most part it was clean, there was one pile I just picked up myself because LB is a poop eater too (hers though yuck!). I'll be back there next Saturday. She had way too much fun!

Where I live, I have the choice of going to 4 dog parks. I have only been to two of them, I am not sure the exact location of the other two but I am going to find out. The dog park we go to has two seperate sections, one for big dogs and one for small dogs. They have a sign out front saying that all dogs must be current on all shots and you must have records with you in case something ever did happen, the dogs can not be aggressive and females in heat are not allowed.
It is a pretty nice dog park. It is fenced in and has a lot of shade and benches and tables to sit at. They do have bags and trashcans for cleaning up but there is no fountain or pooper scooper. But I always bring the dog's water bowls and bottled water. There is a big fence dividing the big dogs from the small dogs, so a lot of the time they little dogs will run up and down along the fence with the big dogs on the other side.
We love going there, the dogs always have such a nice time and love playing with the other dogs. And they love running the fence with the big dogs, which is nice because their is a fence separating them but they can still play together without actually being together in case the big dog would hurt the little dog.
Outside of the dog park is a regular park where you can walk your dog on a leash. I haven't walked it yet but it is pretty nice and has a stream that the dogs often go to.
