Sammy Maree's Patella Operation

Well Sammy maree goes in Thursday morning to have her Patella operation AGAIN. She was going to get her leg redone in Feb, but due to issues with my youngest son and personal issues I put her operation off for a little while.

Sammy was going to get her right leg redone and her left leg done ( 1st time), my husband and I have decided we are NOT going to do her left leg yet. It is only a grade 2 and hasn't changed so we are going to leave it. Our main worry is her right leg ( really bad).

Having gone though it before, I know what to except and I don't like it. Anyways please keep Sammy Maree in your prayers,

Awww, Bek, so sorry about Sammy Maree having to have the leg done again!!! Poor we baby!!! I'll certainly be thinking about her and wish her the best outcome!!! Kallie has grade 2 in both back legs according to the last vet but I am going to have her checked again.............but thank goodness she is showing now signs at all of having the LP. Hope all goes well. Just a little something for her to enjoy! lol:)

Sammy maree is out of theatre and sleeping well in recovery. My vet said the opertation went well, though it was very complicated. She said that Sammy's leg was unusual, her make up was very different NOTHING lined up. My vet said she was under for a very long time while they tried to figure out what to do, her condition is quite rare ( can't remember name of it), and alot more had to be done as apossed to any normal Patella operation and she will be in alot more pain, she also said her recovery time will probably be longer.

I am very anoyed that the this wasn't picked up the first time she had the operation done. My said " The Orthopedic she wanted to do Sammy the first time was on holiday's and Sammy got his fill in, and he obviously missed the problem and this time it was done by the Right Person.

Anyway I can pick my baby up at 4:30 this afternoon. Thankyou all for your prayer, please keep them coming. Please Pray Sammy has a peaceful night sleep, and the pain isn't to much.

Thankyou everyone for your prayers. I have Sammy Maree home. It is now 8:30pm and I have offered food and drink to Sammy, but she doesn't want any ( no suprise there), I have taken her out for a wee wee, but she can't even stand, she just goes to fall over ( of course I am holding her and wouldn't let that happen), so she is back in her bed sound asleep.

Well I am heading off to do some washing etc etc so I can spend my day caring for sammy tomorrow.

i am dreading the day dueci gets his surgery hoping and praying he never needs it but i can tell sometimes when his knees are slipping and its such a shame when my other kids are running around and he stands there shaking it off :(

Bek Hope Samee has a good night and you both get some rest. I know it is so hard to see them in pain. Chipper hopes she heals well and is back to having lots of fun soon.

Sammy Maree slept right through the night with NO problems. She ate her breakfast this morning and has done #1 and #2, she is still very tired and just resting quietly in her pen.
She was due for Pain meds at lunch time today, which I gave her and she ate a little more and did a wee wee. She seems to be comfortable at this stage.
Thankyou all very much for kind words and prayers. I shall keep you all updated.

P.S My Eldest sons school football team won today 22(them) 10( oposition):D . My son was so nervous, he is only in Grade 5 because he was held back in year 2( end of year December baby, our school year starts Jan finishes Dec) so he had to join the year 6 football team and they are BIGGER boys, but he got in and did some great tackles and had fun. I am VERY proud of him.

Aww I hope Sammy gets better soon. My aunt has a bichon and she had a grade 4 in her left leg and then about 2 years later she was playing in the back yard and her right knee just collapsed under her body and she had to have surgery on that one as well. My thoughts are with you!:)
