I got him from a lady in town where I live. I saw a sign that read "maltese puppies for sale" and I stopped in one day (after holding myself back for a week). Well the lady that owned him was here visiting her mother from Michigan and she was all packed up and was leaving to go back home in an hour. I felt so sorry for him, like he needed me and I needed him, also my daughter was with me and she was begging me to get him. While I was there I found out that I had been looking at him on the internet on a website that I had marked in my favorites. I would go to that site and look at him often to see if there was any updates. I had no idea when I went to that house and seen him that he was the same puppy that I had been eyeballing. Anyway, I was not too impressed with the looks of his parents on the website and I even wondered if it was a puppy mill. He was $500.00 and he is AKC registered. He does have a brother that is left-the brother is a little too rowdy for me because I have a yorkie thats rowdy and I didn't think I could handle 2 wild things. I have to be honest that I had wondered if I made the right decision with him. He has an overbite, he is 4.2 lbs at 14 weeks old, and he had some yellowing on his coat in places, there was no health guarantee, he had only recieved one set of shots and only been wormed once, but now I realize that I made the right decision, and he will be spoiled and pampered like he deserves. To me he is perfect. The web site is www.morningglorykennel.com. Sorry this is so long but I can't stop talking about him. I wish you could get his brother-he needs a good home too and I often wonder about him.

:( I wouldn't buy from her thats for sure. Nemo is from a petstore , we all make that mistake, I didn't know at the time, but what is done is done.All I can say is next time I will be smarter , now I know mostly all I need to know.

I think Bentley is adorable:hearter: I think you needed him and he needed you, so your decision wans't a wrong one:) He is adorable..The yellow in his coat I am sure will fade. He will however be a big boy:D Nemo was around the same weight at that age. My guess is he will be at least 10 pds..
Don't ever think what you did was wrong, you did what you felt right so that can't be wrong...

I knew all the "rules" when I bought him, I knew not to support the puppy mills, I knew not to buy from pet stores, I knew that you should buy from a responsible breeder that strives to maintain the breed standard, but I just couldn't walk away from him.....:(. When I bought Hannah my yorkie I followed all the rules..I paid a lot more too, so the $500.00 price tag on Bentley told me that I wasn't getting the best lines....:o . I now know that if you take a dog out of a bad situation and offer love and kindness, no matter how imperfect they are according to AKC standards, it can never be wrong to help that poor baby, but I also know that it keeps supporting the puppy mills.....sadly its a loose loose situation....:( . Thanks for your support, it really means a lot....:)
