mia's mom

I have a question after reading Ashley's post on Chip. How many furbabies come when called? I call Mia and she totally ignores me unless I have food or I am on the couch or bed and she wants up. When I am standing up and call her it's like I am speaking a foreign language to her. Cody comes after the 2nd call ( he is such a good boy) Sometimes Ms. thing won't even look at me when I call her she acts deaf.....I know she CAN hear but she chooses to ignore me unless it suits her! When the trainer comes over we practice this and she comes but as soon as he leaves it's like "Mom class is over...get over it".......Is this just her or do others have this problem?

I completely feel your pain! Bella usually doesn't come unless I have food or a toy in my hand. It's pretty touch and go. Sometimes she'll come after the 4th or 5th call and sometimes she won't come at all:(

Maggie, you know about my dog park scenario in the parking lot with LB so I can tell you... No she doesn't come when I call her. She does at home, but out in public she only has tunnel vision.

Kira on the other hand, is perfect! No problems what so ever. She's my angel! :luv:

donbi comes when she feels like it
sometimes, like 80% dueci and daeroni come to me when i call their name,
and if they dont come... i usually sqat down, call their name, then they come...
or if i call daeroni and he comes
dueci will try to beat him and come to me 1st...

so either way the boys will come...

and donbi... she comes and goes as she pleases

and Lauri, when we are ALL outside they all have tunnel vision (including the daddy)!

We're still working on that 'come' here command. In class, Jack runs two-forty to get to us, at home, he looks over his shoulder and hesitates just to see what we will do. If I raise my voice he usually comes.
We have a new baby on the block. A 9 week old Bassett Hound named Barney. His owner came over with the baby in the stroller and played so well on the grass. When the baby left Jack decided he was going with them and started walking away with them. No matter how we tried to get him away from them, he had decided that he was going with them. My husband had to go in and get a cookie to bribe him back. Needless to say, he did not get the cookie, but rather a stern talking too by his very upset mommy. Now when the baby comes over Jack has to have a leash on.

Hmmm, maybe I should send you and 8x10 of Kallie to help lure Jack back home when he takes off on you!!!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Jack said he'll gladly take an 8x11 of his lady love (he would much prefer the real lady). I told him her mommy and daddy would be heart broken if Kallie was not with them, and I said we'd feel the same about him. Well, that devil gave me that Marlon Brando, James Dean smile and glint in his eye and I think I'm gonna have to watch that boy:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Sounds like my lab Uma. But she is not at all like Mia considering that Uma is crazy. :tounge:
Sprocket comes when called first time so far but then again, it's his first day. He may get cocky once he's been home for a while. What does the trainer say???

I really would love to see a "study" done on this issue. Is this a male / female thing?
When we had Bella Mia, she was a lot like several of you have said, she would do as she wished. I could call her to me until I was blue in the face. But DARN if she wanted to be with me, I could NOT shake her off. :wink5:

Sir Micro is by our side in an instant if called to "come" and Mr Wookie tries his best.

enJOY!
Melanie
