Katrina---it's not a Maltese but it's bigger--a hurricane bigger. This is for anyone living in Florida Panhandle (Pensacola to Panama City).

A reminder to have 5 days worth of supplies in stock for your pets to include treats. Have a harness ready with a notification tag. Also have an ID on your crate and a copy of vet/shot records in a dry package in case you travel. We always stay home during a storm/hurricane since Niceville is about 7 miles as a crow flies from the Gulf of Mexico.

I know the inland areas in Alabama and Georgia will have major rain and possible power outages too. Be prepared with fresh water and have flashlights not candles available.

With luck, Katrina will just disappear.

Diane,
I know I have mentioned this to you before but my brother and his family live in Ft. Walton Beach. My brother; however, is in Egypt and his wife and daughter are home alone. They always stay in the house by themselves. They are only about 1 mile from the Gulf but the house has with stood many hurricanes. We are praying this disaster keeps going west and away from the panhandle. If she changes courses we will keep you in our prayers. Glad that you are already making your plans and getting prepared.

I wish those of you who may be in harm's way the very best. Please let us know what happens.

I checked some weather sites and looks like it will land further west, but depends on when the shift to the north occurs. If your family needs to leave their home if the storm does decide come our way, they are more than welcome to stay in our home. We live in the highest :) (lol) point in Bluewater and all of our pine trees are long gone thanks to Hurricane Opal. Plenty of movies to watch and-----Bailey to play with. We have stayed home through all storms since 1973.
