ok ladies,
Lately, I have been searching and emailing breeders.
I see few that I would love to have their pup.
But i'm not planning on getting one til next year.
Do you think I should wait until next year to do my search or request to put on a waiting list? ( Does the breeder mind that u want to be on a waiting list until your ready )
Thanks,
Natalie

Hi Natalie,
I dont think they would mind at all . Actually alot of breeders may have a waiting list depends where you go. I think it's great your doing your search now this way you get to look at all the wonderful breeders and decide which one is for you.To me its really important to be able to talk to the breeder and get to know them.I wish you the best of luck with your search..

Hi Natalie,
I myself tell people that I would love to put them on my list. But if it is going to be a while before I have a pup available or they will be ready to stay in touch with me. It shows me that they are truly interested in my babies. I agree with Andrea about the research. And the longer you search the wiser you will become in who is reputable and who is not. So if it is going to be a year I would search for at least 6 months and make a list while you are searching of who you are interested in. Then when you are about 6 months away start contacting breeders. Make a list of questions. Then ask the questions and demand answers. If they are not direct on there answers run dont walk away. Any reputable breeder will answer any and all of your questions and not be offended. Also be prepared because the breeder is going to be asking a lot from you also. This is how we start the interview of you and you of us. If you happen to have a question that the breeder does not know the answer to they will be honest with you about not knowing and find the answer through their mentors.
Best of luck to you in your mission to finding you new family member.

Thanks Ladies.
Doing this search isnt helping me at all. Make me want one right now. Its good that I can control myself :D
Thats why I'm only interested in breeders from Texas. I prefer driving there and being able to talk in person. So I can get to know them and see the parents of my pup. I make that mistake when I first bought my yorkie.
I learn alot from that mistakes.

Hopefully I'm lucky enough to get one of those babies.
What do you think about Pashes Maltese or Divine Maltese.
I just got back from looking at Varanda Maltese page.. Her babies are so adorable.

I think its good that you are doing your research early. Now yes I will admit it will make you want one even soon but the more research you do the better. All the the links that everyone has sent you so far have gorgeous Maltese. Good luck and keep searching:)

I'm right there with you. I also want a another pup next year , and also want to avoid the mistakes I made the first time. I'm getting to know the names of the really good breeders by reading the Maltese forums. I have learned a lot over the last two years I have had Bogie. Thank goodness for the advise and help of experienced Maltese people. Most of them know more, and are certainly more helpful that the vets I have come across.
Keep reading and learnng. That's the best way to avoid mistakes when picking out your new family member.
