I am not sure how to groom or have Sammie groomed. I am growing out his hair but every time he pee pee's he wets the whole underside of his belly... Do you all cut the hair on the belly?

When keeping one in full coat there are a couple of things you can do to prevent the yellow underside. One is to shell them out. Which means to keep the underside clipped short. I prefer to just find that happy medium on the length to keep the peepee hairs. The peepee hairs act as a spout so to speak to take the urine away from the body. If the hairs are too long they will cling to the inner legs and wet the hairs on the inner legs. If the hairs are too short the baby will accidentially pee on his/her tummy. You have to find that fine line between too long/too short. I keep Sassy's about 2--3 inches long and that seems to work for her. I would start by trimming a little at a time until you find the correct length. I hope this helps.

For my mom's male we definately clip the tummy area very short around his sprinkler. We do a bit of a modified version of shelling out, only that part of his tummy and a bit on the inside of his leg since he is a leg lifter. He is in full coat that now touches the ground.
