For those of you who have full grown Maltese babies, how much do they weigh?

S. Morkie... you will have to subtract the weight of the hair if you answer this question. :wink5:

Jack is a big brute of a boy!! He weighs 13 pounds, but the vet said at his 1 year check up that he is very well proportioned and rock solid. He plays all day and get 2-3 walks a day so he's not lazy.

:D Nemo is also big he is 10pds, but he is from a petstore. Usually when you buy from a reputable breeder your puppy will be standard like from 4 to 7 pds . When you buy from a petstore you just don't know the background so you dont know what you will get. I don't really cars as I love Nemo more than anything but I am just trying to say it like it is. Myla will be 16 weeks on Sunday and she weighs 3.7# - exactly the same as Brea - one of my Yorkies who is 8 months.

I have a big Yorkie and she is the most cuddly of the three. She can also be extremely squirrely, but is also the most laid back (most of the time) and such a love bug. At night she sleeps on the pillow next to my head, as close to my head as she can get. :)

Who in heavens name is saying such rubbish like that????, I dare anyone to say anything negitive about my babies, I will kick their butt.
I think the standard is rubbish, it was made up by a bunch of toffee nose people, who decided over years to breed out certain traits they didn't like. The Maltese we have today, is nothing like the PURE maltese breed back in the 1800's. So who defines STANDARD.
Sorry I just get so p1$$ed when people make such rude comments about someones beloved baby.
I wouldn't change either of my furbabies, I love every inch and every pound of them.
Nemo is beautiful, if you were to find another baby as sweet and beautiful as Nemo is, you will be doubly blessed. Hugs to you and your handsome baby.

Andrea, you take those sad faces off your post about Nemo and what people said, you know they are just ignorant snobs.
One time I pm'd a person on another forum to maybe meet if she lived close.
Well she was in driving distance but since the 1st sentence was about how Holly sounds as if she would be on " bigger end of the maltese standard " and hers was only 4lbs, I decided this person would not be worth the drive and no more comunicating w/her if that's all she could think to post me.

She is so cute Maggie. Stands her ground with Cody too. But she is a bit smaller than the standard. Does not make her less of a cuttie. I kinda wish Sushi was small like that but then again, with my Labs, a tiny dog would end up a flattened stain on the floor. Sushi is 4.5 months and 5.6 pounds. Hopefully he wont get to big. His mom was 7 pounds and dad was 5. Let's get them together soon Maggie.

Mr Wookie and I hear some of the same things. He is 18 months old and very well proportioned at 2 pounds 8 ounces, 6 2/3 inches by 6 3/4 inches. And we hear all sorts of comments.
"Oh is that a teacup?" NO he's a dog!
"What kind of dog is that? I have never seen one so small." He's a Maltese. "That can't be a Maltese, my friend has one and it doesn't look like THAT. My friend's dog has short hair and is much bigger." Your friend may keep their Maltese in a puppy cut and Maltese come in many sizes.

On and on it goes. There are rude people everywhere with opinions they think others want to hear. :tongue5: NO thanks!
