I gave Myla a bath today and tried getting her used to the dryer. She was so dang funny. She would curl up in a ball and try to hide her face. :lol2: She is now learning what "stand" means!
Anyhow... I clipped her nails for the first time! No blood! No crying! Lots of squirming... but we still did it. :yay_jump: Maltese's nails are SO easy compared to Yorkies. :excited: You can actually SEE what to cut. I love it. :thumb2:

Good for you. With it being 90 degrees yesterday, we gave Jack his bath in this kiddie pool. That was a riot!!
I leave all the cutting to my groomer. Jack goes for 2-3 walks a day, so his nails get better shaped down.

LOL....Cody is ok with me doing everything to him except his face. He hides his face and uses his front paws like hands to block me!

Good job!!! I agree, doing yorkie nails is a real tuff job but the maltese nails are easy to see and so you can get them done quicker. Just another great reason to own a maltese!:D :D

That must be so cute! I think I am in love with Cody.....:D I hope Myla turns out pretty... I'm so afraid she will end up with lousy hair and 250#'s. :lol2:

Great job. I will get easier as she gets older. About her size and coat I bet you will love her just the same if she had a cotton coat and was 15 lbs......which I doubt very seriously will happen!

I told the breeder that I DID not want one with cottony hair. She showed me a couple other female pups that probably would end up with that type of hair, and Myla's was different, so I really, really hope that she will be pretty with a silky, shiny coat.

Great job on grooming her and working on her training!! She will the love you grooming her in no time!!
Nails always seem to be the hardest for most dogs, they just want to freak out when you cut their nails.I have seen some dogs put up a huge fight and scream like you were torturing them. But if you work with them from the beginning the won't seem to even notice that you are cutting the nails. Mine could care less if you are cutting their nails, they will even give me their paw at times so I can cut their nails.

Aww great thats soo great that you were able to do all of the grooming. I am still working on that. What did you use to clip the toe nails? I think its time for me to learn how to do that:( Somehow the groomers always seem to forget to cut the toe nails on at least one of them and I don't notice of course until...they scratch me by accident:(

This is what I use. I have a type that I used to use where you could adjust the length of what you want to clip but it was so noisy when it clipped that the dogs spooked. :( So I went with this one - it works really well.
