Andrea, thank you so much for posting this.
I was watching a public service video with Charlize Theron speaking against puppymills and I was absolutely bawling when I saw the conditions these precious sweeties are in and what they are put through. I was watching one portion where these poor sweeties go insane and just run in circles in their tiny cages. I just broke my heart seeing this video and I grabbed and hugged and kissed on LB and Kira for a very long time. I'm crying just remembering this video. I just wish there was more that can be done.
I know that I will buy my next furbaby from a reputable breeder.

The sad thing is you preach in the wind. It's an utopia to stop puppymills by asking people not to buy from brokers and pet stores. It's like the drugs, as long as there is a demand, it's not going to stop. What they should do is enforce the existing laws and close and fine the puppymills that don't follow the rules : a humane and clean environment. Show breeders (that are called "reputable breeders") are not producing enough pets for all the people who want one and especially not at an affordable price. They charge high prices for the pups they can not use for show to support their hobby of showing. Most people don't care that their pup is show quality or to standard. All they want is a pet to love. I am sorry, I don't like dog shows, I compare that to the kids beauty pageants, instead of being child abuse it's dog abuse. That's what I think anyway.
