I don't trim Jack's nails myself, I let the groomer do that and Jack goes for 2-3 walks a day, so I don't worry.
But, if someone is looking for a new trimmer, I just read about this one in the new Dog Fancy Magazine.
QUICKFINDER..... this clipper can help you avoid cutting the vein in your dog's nail. This clipper has 'quicksensor' technology. It can actually sense the vein, or quick, in the nail. It gives you a visual clue as to whether it is safe to cut. The red light means it's not safe to clip; the yellow light means use caution; and of course the green light means it's safe to clip.
It's from Miracle-Corp. Phone # 1-800-635-2044
