Hi everyone! I'm Adria and my Maltese is Tuffy. He's 1 1/2 years old. I love him to bits and pieces and couldn't imagine life without him. He's my first dog. I also have a Yorkie named Pixie... I'm Mystify79 on YT also. :) Anyways, I'm looking forward to meeting new people here and hearing about everyone's Maltese!

I already got my sister to sign up! Woohoo! I'd love to see this forum grow and take the lead away from MO.. that would be some just desserts. :D

It will grow, yorkie talk was pretty slow when I joined it last summer...now look at it. It's a monster!!!! Just need to get the word out to other maltese owners.

Hi! Both of your dogs are just precious!

Just curious, what is up with MO and other sites? I hear a lot of talk about it on SM but don't really understand?? Does the MO owner try to sabotage other sites?

MO is just basically a really restricted site where every single one of your posts has to pass their strict test before it is even close to being posted. And if your post happens to violate one of their million rules they'll ban you in a heartbeat. They are just so censored over there and a lot of the posters are just plain mean and rude. The owner came over to SM once and trolled the board posting lots of rude and obscene things. Every once in a while we suspect a troll from MO comes over just to cause chaos... hopefully that won't ever happen here. MO has some good information on the site by itself, but don't dare wander into the forum unless you want to be bashed or banned for no good reason at all.

MO has lots of good info but there is an air of arrogance on that forum. Very strict guidelines, it is not a fun place. While I have never been banned from that forum I did leave because I was tired of waiting for post to be approved and many times they never made it on the forum. You write a post and then submit it..and wait maybe a few hours of until the next day to see if it made it past the owner/admin/moderator. It's totally controlled from things as simple as not being able to ask someone what brand of food they use, what website you bought those bows from, to they just don't feel like the topic or comment should be posted because someone else made a similar post, etc. Maybe things have lightened up over there by now but I doubt it. They did start banning people for simple things as mentioning brands, websites, etc. Go over there and mention anything about wanting to breed your dog, buying from a pet shop , broker, backyard breeder , etc and they treat you like an idiot rather than trying to help you with better info or help you find a pup..but wait..Jay will help you locate a reputable breeder IF you pay for the list. At the time no pm's were allowed and people had no way of keeping in touch with each other so if you were banned because you asked something "stupid" you were lost to never never land. I was at SM when it was new and lots of people finally started finding there way there. SM is a very good forum and has grown...Someone did come over and troll and made threats..totally bizarre, everyone knows who it was. On the other hand MO is full of info. Jay B. is well known in the malt world as he has bred a good line( I don't think he is active in breeding anymore) , he and his wife are active in rescue, knows the top breeders..etc. Most people just can't get past the issues of the tone of the forum. Try it out..you'll see what were talking about. People whom leave MO are not disgruntled..they are fed up with it.
