Wow, maybe it was just too much excitement and he is just thrown off his regular area. I can only suggest you keep a close eye on him and take him to the pad if you can catch him in the act. Did you clean the floors after everybody left with a new cleaner???? Did he do his poo in the same place in the living room??? Maybe the odor is lingering???? Poor Nemo!!! Poor Andrea!!! Of course, did you scold him???? They want so much to please us and they know when they have done wrong........make sure he knows that!!!

I am sure it is a temporary situation..........he will be ok! You will just have to keep a close eye on him until he gets back into the swing of things. Just like when he was a puppy!!!! I am sure he will be doing his poo where he is suppose to in no time. Maybe he was just looking for some quiet area......I imagine your kitchen was pretty busy on the 4th.......or is that not his usual poo area?

Yes carol ur right, I did move his pad over a bit cause it's in front of the door, I mean he has pooped on the pad since then but he just went in the livingroom before, its just weird, I hope he stops cause I cant take this:(

I am sure he will be fine!!! It is just a temp thing!!! Once he sees how unhappy you are and scolding, he will do his poo .......... even the slightest changes can make them resort to behavior you don't expect. MOVED HIS PAD???????? Well, that explains it all, he's telling you to leave his pad where it was or he'll poo elsewhere!!!!

Seriously, he will be fine, just keep an eagle eye out for any sniffing out a new place.

Andrea this is going to sound gross, but is the consistency the same. Did someone give him something that may have given him a little belly ache and maybe he is trying to get your attention with it. The only other thing is maybe it is because of how you moved it even though it was just a little, dogs are creatures of habit and he may want it back where it was.

I sure hope this issue gets resolved soon for both of your sakes.

His stomach I think was bothering him, but I think its maybe cause I moved the pad:confused: it has to be I didn't do anything else different.
Thanks everyone..xo

If he is used to have his pad on a certain place, don't move it. If I change the pad place, Alex will not go on it. They are very peculiar. When we tiled the laundry room, his pad was in the hallway. After so many hours with him not going, I took him outside and then he went.

pooping is also a form of marking their territory
since you just had company i wonder if he is trying to put his scent back in the house

 I don't know Jodi. so if this is true what am I going to do when people come over:confused: Like I said Nemo never marked until I picked him up after his Neutering:confused: figure that one out??
I picked him up he walked into the kitchen and peed on the chair:confused: I was in shock, I still find it confusing. He was neutered at 7 months and NEVER marked till I took him home. He has never went poop anywhere but his pad. So far so good, I hope it was just a one time thing..:(

Sometimes you don't know what happened. Sometimes something goes on in their little head but we don't understand it. Maybe he had to fart and poop came with it. Sh... happens. :D Maybe he started pooping on his pad and it got stuck and fell off later on. Nemo, now I am running out of excuses for you :lol2:

When My Pom got older she would put her paws up on the window sill....Low sills ! and she would slip one out, she wouldnt even have a clue she did it.

Happened a few times in the car too...looking out the window.
Must have been a funny site to watch me toss a hot one out the window of my car.

That has to be what happened, he started to poo on the pad and had a "hanger." He got scared and ran into the living room and then it let go on living room floor...............there it is, the "TRUTH" is out!!!! Nemo is still a good boy!!!!

Dear Andrea,
I hope that Nemo is back to his wonderful handsome, loved self today.
Keep in mind, that to a dog, people coming into his "home" is serious.
Love to you both,
Melanie

Love my Leo
07-09-2007, 05:20 PM
Leo has his days...has nothing to do with having company tho. I like the "hang on" theory. Leo's first "hanger oner" freaked him out so for a week or so he would poop and run with things NOT landing in the appropriate spot. He got over it...Now we're back to "things" right where they belong, dead center on the pad!:D

Im HAPPYto report Nemo never did it again, thank God:D Maybe it was cause so many people were over so he felt the need to express his dislike, I don't know and I'm not questioning it, as long as it stopped I'm good!!:D :D
Thanks to everyone for your help. xoxo
