Do you undo top knots before bed?

If you leave them in for a few days, how long do you leave their hair up? I usually undo it every night because i think it might get knotted at the base.

Yea, your right. Leaving the top knot in for too long can cause breakage and knots, even with a silky coat. It's best to take them before they got to bed.

I leave it on usually for 2 days or if they look ugly....I change it!

I take their topknot down every night and then put up it the morning.

I usually leave Mia's in for 2 days and redo it. Its never PERFECT because she cant stand letting me win the battle!! :lol2: So its most always kinda ugly after I set her on the ground! I try distract her with a treat but, sometimes she knows what Im doing! I wish she would let me do it every morning without a little battle!

My experience is if you leave it it gets matted & gathers oose at the base of the top knot! None of mine have them at the moment, i chopped them off:o

Two days go by........I will definitely have knots in the tops of their hair. So I have to change it at least every other day or lose hair in the process of brushing it out after three days. I try to do it every day as part of their long coat brushout, but sometimes don't quite get to it. I have a lot of hair to brush unlike Maggie and Laurie! (LOVE YOU GUYS):lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I usually change it every 2 days or more often if it looks bad. I have to watch both Jazzy & Macy if the topknot is to tight it will make their skin really red where the hair is pulled together. As soon as I put the topknot up they get in the floor and roll around trying to get it out.

I re-do Wookie's topknot every morning. However I do not keep bands in his hair unless I am going out, most times. I use a barrette mostly just to keep his hair up and out of his eyes.

Do you use just regular barrettes or is there a kind of just for dogs? Enzo doesn't seem to bother his topknots but sometimes he rolls around and that might make a regular barrette fall out.

do you ever use a glue gun or something and attach the bows to it? I'm going to try to making a little bow tie looking one. Everyone can stop asking me if enzo is a girl then lol.

Mats Carol! There were tons of them! I had to!

Geez! Now, I have a mild guilt trip going:D I still brush her everyday to keep her used to me brushing her out.

When I had LB's hair long I kept her topknot on during the day. I took off the topknot at night. I put myself in her shoes. I get headaches when I keep my hair in a pony tail (which I always do at work). When I get ready for bed my hair is down, so I do the same for LB. I also get scared the band will come off her hair and she will try and eat it.
