I did ALL the right things and was very hard hearted when it came to crating my sweet puppy Arabella at night , but she's finally worn me down . EVERY night at 4.00am , my sweet puppy turned into a shrieking banshee , and you all KNOW what the minx wanted . Yep , that's right puppy is now happily residing on her Mummy's bed . I know I'm weak but sleeping till 5.00am is such a treat . Sarah

I am picturing wall to wall mattress with all the fluffs in their little spots ;)

Hubby did once ask one for me to wait till we had a bigger bed before getting another fluff ;)

Awww Cosmo would do the same thing to me at 4am. I refused to give in though. Then I went on vacation and it stopped thank goodness. He is sleeping through the night again. I live in an apartment and I really think its because I had new neighbors who received the newspaper every morning and that woke him up until he got used to it:)

:p I know sarah, it's not much different than having a newborn, it's really hard
I remember my 1st and 3rd slept through the night a 4 weeks, but my 2nd Nicholas lord it took him 3 months to sleep through the night. I was like a Zombie:dizzy: I burnt more bottles on the stove, tripped, fell down the stairs, and was a complete moron, it was terrible..Hang in there it will get better, I think puppies are the same as children.. Lord I am glad those days are over:bed_time: :bed_time:

Good Luck,
ANDREA~

lol andrea :D
you will soon be back to early feedings playing and saying no go to sleep! :D
my girls sleep! my boys love to play! but if i put dueci on my bed i feel bad daerong is sleeping by himself (since i put aerong by herself now cause of the spay), dueci and donbi are the only ones that are allowed to sleep with mommy!

the other two are still not fully potty train.
i usually say no go to sleep, and they either do or i just take nyquil and i knock out :sidesplit:

I know one thing through
donbi hates sleeping on the bed with me, she cant stand my snoring!
dueci LOVES sleeping on the highest pillow, he loves sleeping with me!
aerong i notice love to venture out on her own.
daerong i dont know yet...

but sarah i feel your pain :) you are a good mommy!
so is everyone else!

glad cosmo is doing better i know you need your sleep!

:sidesplit: :sidesplit: Oh how I remember those days Andrea, so glad they are over.
As to our furbabies, well I was very lucky, My hubby would take them out to potty before he went to bed ( night owl he his) and then when he woke up early in the morning. They are so well trained that when they wake up in the morning ( they all sleep in now) they go straight to him, LOL. They go potty then back to bed for a few more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (on the weekends they will sleep as long as I stay in bed).

Andrea I can't wait till you get your little Princess, I am so happy for you.

We still have the crate up in the frontroom--it now houses all of Jack's toys and chewy bones. We tried to keep him in the crate all night, but when my son went and bought the steps for the couch and beds--well that did it!!!! We just put the gate across the hallway enterence into the frontroom at bed time and we leave our bedroom doors open alittle and Jack decides with whom he will grace his company with. He's so different from our first Maltie. Max would try to sleep on our pillows ( that's a no-no). If your pup is at the head of your bed on your pillow that means he is in complete control and the alpha leader. Jack just likes to be at the end of the bed curled up in a ball. He gets up and goes to visit another room when he wants. If he needs to go out for potty he rings the bell on the hallway gate.
The crate is still put in the kitchen when we leave him alone. He likes to go in it and sleep on the padded bed. But that's only if he is home alone, otherwise he is right there by one of us. That is the way of the Maltese and I wouldn't have it anyother way.

When we first got kallie at 2yrs, they told us she was crate trained. First night she cried and so we brought the crate into our bedroom and she settled down. After a few nights, we decided that we wanted her with us, she was just so sweet and cuddly, and that is where she has been for the last two years. Our routine at night goes like this: Kallie does her nightime cleaning of hubby's face. Once she is done with that she comes over and plops herself down on my pillow, then within a few minutes, she slides down to my side and then in another few minutes she heads for the foot of the bed and that is where she stays all night. That's where the AC vent is aimed and keeps her cool! Toby sleeps either curled up under my armpit in a little ball or sometimes stretches out along my back and keeps my back toasty! Sometimes he will sleep next to the hubby at first then over to me and then back to him and then finally he settles down. I'd miss them if they didn't sleep with us. So far it has not been a problem so if it's not broke don't fix it!
