I have shared with you guys before about how bad Ernies Jaw is, so I have taken some pics for you all to see. My vet and I were hoping his jaw would improve as he got older, but it hasn't. In fact it has got alot worse. his top jaw keeps growing and his botton jaw isn't. Well here are some pics of my babies mouth so you can get some Idea of what I mean. I love him anyway, as I know all of you do.
Thankyou

Is that called an overbite? Is he still managing to eat OK? Is the back teeth still meeting each other?
All these questions :D

No his teeth don't all meet up, he has started eating some dry food, but he does find it very difficult, most of his diet is wet food with crushed up dry biscuits in it.
His right canines will most likely need to be pulled as they are starting to dig into his palate, if his jaw continues to grow this way then they will actually put wholes in is palate and it can be very painful.
Braces were mentioned. We are just waiting till he is 6mths to see how those canines are. To see if they have to be pulled. We will do xrays on him then. The orthodontist can't do much until he is around 10mths, thats when there jaw usually stops growing. The orthodontist has seen Ernie, and he feels there is NO way it will correct its self. It has another name than just " overbite", his botton jaw just isn't growing:( .
I shall let you know how it all pans out. I luv my little man and I will do what ever he needs, thats the botton line.
Hugs

We sure hope Ernie will be ok. When we got Jack from the shelter he had an underbite. We've had it checked out by our regular vet and she thinks it'll be ok. He doesn't have any trouble with eating or chewing on the rawhides. Does Ernie have any problem with his chew toys? Did you have to take him to a specialist for this? This seems like a serious problem for your precious baby and I'll keep him in my prayers. I'm also going to keep a closer check on Jack (he's only 7 months old).
I re-read your post and saw you went to a specialist.

So Bek, I know you have been really busy with "other" things!!!:D :D
But wanted to just check in on little Ernie's mouth and how it is coming along?? Is it better or is something going to have to be done surgically???
Give him a pat for me!!!! Sweet Ernie!!!

Oh poor Ernie and you. I know it is stressful for you to see him struggle.
I hope you keep searching for a solution.
You are a good mommy to him so that's gotta make him a happy fella.:)
