Waiting for the puppy-boy, my Mum told me that she'd love a girl too...I would be iper happy if I'll find one. I was just wondering if I will be able to be equal to them...In the past I had a boy and then a girl. I loved them both but, I have to admit, I had more feeling with the girl...This time I've been charmed by the beauty of this boy...Which are the differences you've noticed between boys and girls? Talking about their personalities, of course...

Well im no help on this 1 Monica, seeing as I have 3 girls. I have had boy dogs before, but always only 1 at a time. So their personalitis were different anyway.

From my observations the girls seem to be a little more independant were as the boys want to be in your back pocket constantly. The boys are always the first to follow me from room to room, dont get me wrong the girls follow too but i think they do it so that they dont miss anything:p

I love both the males & females, there is no major difference in my opinion.

Good luck, hope you get one for your mum!

I think each dog has his/her own personality...I have a male yorkie who is very loving and cuddly. He likes to be with me at all times. My female maltese is also loving and cuddly, but she's more independent...If I'm giving Miko attention, then she's all in my face giving me kisses so that I will pay attention to her and not him. LOL :)

I just have three girls but I've heard that the females love you, but the males are IN LOVE with you. I've heard people say that they will only show a male because males just want to please you while the females do whatever they want, LOL. After showing my crazy girl Caira, I can identify with that statement, LOL!

I noticed that Males tend to be alot more affectionate the females. I personally prefer little furboys, but little furgirls are just as great. :p Hope this helps!:hearter:

I never had a boy dog until Toby.............always had girls from the very beginning of being a dog owner. And I must admit I was hesitant about even getting him but he was just sooooooooo cute!!! And now that I have had him for over a year, I do not regret getting him at all. He is a real sweetheart but so is my Kallie. The next one will be a girl though. Just something about ME that I love little girl doggies. But I wouldn't trade Toby for anything.:hearter: :hearter:

I have both males and females. The males are the biggest cuddle bugs ever!! They are so sweet and love being in your lap. The girls on the other hand are more independent and more playful then cuddly. The girls are still cuddly but not as much as the boys. But I have noticed Sugar is more cuddly like the boys while her sister Candie is definitely more independent and playful.

The only downside to having males that I found is that they pee on themselves which means they need baths more often so they don't become smelly. And you have to keep them shaved or cut short under their belly so they aren't peeing on their hair all the time.

I have heard from others that male dogs "are in love with you" while the females "just love you". And I know many who say males are more cuddly while females are more independent.

In my honest opinion I really think it all depends on the personality of each dog not a male vs female thing.

I think this is true I know Mia loves me to death but Cody and yes Peanut (already)just give me this look like their whole world revolves around me like I am "It"! Mia is much more independent!:tounge:
