Yes, it has finally come back in..as you can see from my picture, we like long hair here!!! She looks a bit rasta right now, all different lengths...I am the only one who grooms or cuts her hair so I am waiting a bit more to shape her again , my poor little angel has been though too much...

Puttie is a bit over 2 years, she weighs around 6 pounds now, need to go check her weight as she is on meds for hypthroidism and has lost nearly 6 pounds since August. She is 9 inches tall, 10 inches from neck to tail, and was from a pet store so was prbably bred large so that she could produce alot of puppies. She was very ill when I got her. I did not know about all the horrors associated with pet store babies when I bought her but after I saw her the first time and came back ( 3 weeks).. she was under a pound a a quarter and was deathly ill and I just couldn't leave her there...:(

:smlove2: :smlove2: She is beautiful, great pics. I want to be spoiled and go on the boat as well :D .lol

Nanci, it is so very hard. We all know about the horrible stories about Pet shop pups and puppy mills etc etc, and we all know that if people stopped buying them, then they would eventually run out of buisness, but it is hard, we can't help feel for those pups that sit in those cages for week after week and even months so we buy them, I mean they need to be loved also, and if not loved by someone, they will either join the breeding program or be killed.

You rescued your little Puttie Pie, and gave her a loving family.

Hugs to you, ( can you explain what Puttie Pie's condition is??, I have never heard of it. thankyou.

First of all, thanks for the support about this subject as I was most frowned upon by other SNOBS on another board because of HOW I got Puttie. I would not even go into a pet store now, not ever again. Some of those high and mighty maltese rescue owners, how do they know their pets didn't start out at pet stores??????? GRRRRRRRR, Anyway, HYPOTHROIDISM is a LACK of thyroid hormone production ( TS1 and TS2). "Thyroid hormones affect almost every organ in the body and thus many signs of this disease are common. These include lethargy, depression, obesity despite normal feeding amounts, hair loss, skin and ear infections, weak or torn knee ligaments. Should this disease be suspected initial screening bloodwork is performed. Dogs that are hypothyroid have thyroid levels that are almost always below the normal range"(http://www.ovma.org/pets/hypothyroidism.html). Puttie went from 6 pounds to near 12. She was losing hair in symmetrical patches, was eating the same amount of food, and still getting larger and larger. It took 4 vet visits in all to finally get action on her problems....and now she is ok! her hair is growing back ( after 5 months) and she is back down in weight ( might go today and get exact weight) and she is happy....(edited for yet another typo!!!)

:( Aww , but she looks great now!!:D
Don't worry about where you got her from, we all made that mistake, well not all but most. The lesson is to learn from it and not to make it again. For a long time I felt terrible about where I got Nemo, I felt like I should have known better, but we all did it, its done we love them and thats it. I wouldnt pay any attention to ANYONE who says negative things to you, if they are trying to teach you thats different, but if they are making you feel bad then I would BLAST them, I see nothing wrong in doing that:D

:D Sometimes, a little regression is needed...LOL!! Really, though, the rescued dogs, how in the world can their owners be so grandeous? As if their rescue is supreme over all dog and other dog owners?? LUDICROUS, no matter HOW we got them, we lOVE and ADORE them....that should be the bond that binds us all, not splits us apart.. It is obscene ......I am so glad I am here really. x0x0x to each and every one of you good people a million times over.:)

Love that first pic of her with her mouth open! She is definitely a beauty! Like her mama! I think that you did a fantastic job raising her and I'm glad that you both found each other.
