I have AGED 10 years - Arabella gave me a heart attack last night !!!! As usual I had the munchies last night - so I cut myself an ENORMOUS ( and highly fattening ) piece of chocolate brownie . I sat down in my study to stuff my piglet face ( I sit down there when I don't want to share with Josh ) . I left Baby Arabella happily frolicking upstairs - so imagine my surprise when ... Arabella hurled herself sideways from my really high staircase and attempted to FLY towards my plate of dessert ( from the top of the stairs ) . I of course FREAKED - as this tiny missile propelled herself through the air . I managed to catch Arabella with one hand - I wasn't about to drop my tasty treat . I now have a baby gate on every staircase -this will teach me a valuable lesson about greed ( and no , not mine - ARABELLA"S ) . Because of my trauma - I THEN ATE TWO PIECES OF BROWNIE - I needed the sugar rush . Sarah

OMG! I'm so glad she's ok!
Stairs are so dangerous, no matter what age or personality they have! My first maltese jumped off the side of my mother's staircase from the top step trying to get to me. I did NOT see her and she landed with a horrible fall on uncarpeted floor. She was like 7 years old when she did this. She was ok, but the baby gates went up and stayed.

Unfortunately Arabella is not scared of ANYTHING - it's very disconcerting . Sarah

Wheww, that could have turned out very badly! Glad she is fine. I do not have an upstairs so don't have that problem. Sometimes I think they just want to make sure our "tickers" are still working..........sounds like she put yours in overdrive! LOL

OUT, HOWS THAT, as they say in cricket, when caught in mid flight.:tongue3:
How scary, got to say, GREAT catch Sarah. I am very lucky, all of mine are scared of the stairs. Max is the ONLY one that will walk up ( Sammy Maree miss princess needs to be carried and Ernie would fall between the gaps so he is carried) and NONE can walk down, LOL.
Now my 3 sons, well thats a whole different topic.
It's a Bird
