I have ID tags for the other two furbutts and I just ordered one for Brandy from the below site. I like the idea that they give you so many lines to put all the information. I bought a pink plastic heart shaped ID tag today and so when I get it, I will write a review on how good a product it is for anyone else that is interested.

What does everyone think about Micro Chipping ?
Was told it could be done when she is getting Spayed next month.

Here in Florida, anytime a dog is outside the home, it must have tags on or the dog can be picked up by the local animal control so we wear collars with three ID tags on them anytime we take them with us out of the yard.

Absolutely a great idea to have it done then. A very simple procedure which does not even require sedation. Two of mine are already microchipped and I am getting Brandy done next month at a local pet clinic ($10 vs. $45 at the vet).

If I were you I would do it while she is being spayed. I did it with Mia. The breeder wanted to do it when I picked her up and I said no becuase the size of the needle vs the size of Mia at 9 weeks the needle was huge.:(

I think thats what I will do, when she gets spayed.
I think the VPI insurance will pick up some of the cost as well...will check it out !

Thanks for posting this site. I have been thinking about getting Coco a new tag, since she went through a phase where she chewed hers. I had her microshipped when she was being spayed, and she chewed the tag with the phone number and her id number, so now you can barely read it! That sorta defeats the purpose. I like that there are a lot of lines on those tags, as well, so I can get my phone number, the microchip phone number and her id number on it.

I wonder if you can call the phone number where her microchip is registered and get a replacement tag for her????? Just a thought. But I do love the number of lines on this particular tag on the site. I got all the information I wanted on it, the color I wanted and all for $9.00 ..........but I can't take the credit for finding the site:o :o :o .....Mia'smom, Maggie showed me it!!!!:p :p

I'm sure I could order a new tag. This one that the vet gave me when she was microchipped is plastic. I think if she continues to chew for a little longer, a metal one mught be more sturdy. I should look into it, though.
She rarely wears the collar with the tags anyway, at this point. Ony when we are going far from home, like on a walk, to someone else's house or for a drive in the car. Around the house, I always forget to put it on her!

My microchip tags are soft plastic too. The ID tag I just bought is hard plastic and 1/8" thick and of course I wear the rabies license tag on the collar as well. So I put the soft plastic between the two harder tags and like you I never wear their collars in the house only for the same reasons you do.........when we leave the house.:D :D
