View Full Version : Water Bottle Stands

Just wanted to get your opinions ( and I know I will get plenty) about these water bottle stands. Now that I have three drinking out of the bowls, and the long beards, well, I am sure you can imagine the drips that they leave. So I was thinking of investing in one of these water stands for all three to drink out of. Does anyone else strictly use this for providing water for their furbutts??? And how do they do? Is it just as messy?? Feedback PLEASE!!!

I like those but have nothing to attach it to!:( :( :( But I guess if you have a gate, crate or xpen you keep up, it would attach to them.:D

attach it to your xpen

I don't keep the xpen up all the time. We have only used it inside since we got Brandy when we both have to leave and once she is 100% housetrained and the other dogs totally accept her, it will go back into the garage for outside use. So I want something permanent. Thanks though!:D

I use the water bottle all the time C, it drastically reduces the messy faces!

As far as water bottle stands go i dont have one that is made for a bottle as we dont get them over here. I use a plastic carrier bag holder, dont know if you ever saw one but it works great & just as well! Infact because i have multiple dogs i can attach more than one bottle to it so i dont need to refill during the day.

You wont regret using a bottle:wink5:

P.S. my raised feeders arrived today:D

I hate to sound too ignorant but a "Plastic carrier bag holder"????   Do you have a pic or a website I can see what you are referring to???? Think I may go with the bottle, it is just getting too messy with their beards and the bowls.

I'm ordering Brandy a raised feeder off of ebay ........ can't wait to get it. She has one on the floor now but always wants to eat out of the raised feeder that the other two have............you'd think she was a pampered pooch!! If she wasn't she will be now!:D :D

Well i searched & searched over here for a proper stand, asked at all the pet shops & nothing!!! So i racked my brain & still nothing came to mind, it was my daughter Chloe that came up with using the carrier bag holder as she was pulling a bag out of it. Quite en-genius if you ask me:p offcourse i dont use that one for bags anymore & it does keep their faces dry:D

Laurie, I ordered it and paid for it and then the next day, I was sent an email saying that the gentleman who makes the stands has gone sick and went into the hospital and they do not know when he will resume making the stands so they returned my money. I may wait a bit and write them and see if he has improved and is able to make them again. It is perfect for me but I am also going to show my "handy" hubby and see if he will make it for me. I also found this site with just a little difference but I am sure it would work as well.

very similar in the materials but the one you suggested has feet on it for "tip proof" and also the cost is donated to a rescue organization. That would have been my first choice.

The Lixix bottle has a metal mount for it. The long board from top to the bottom will hold the bottle and the board on the bottle is wide enough to balance the whole thing together.

Oh Cathy, it was really easy to make. It is a 4 inch PVC pipe which they have in precut 3 foot lengths and a flange from the plumbing department from Home Depot! The pipe just slips snug over the flange lip and then you just cut out the little area for the bottle tip to slide down to the desired level. Sand and paint and you are done! The kids took to it right away and NO MORE SLOPING OF WATER ON THE FLOORS!!!!! It's wonderful. I hope to paint it tomorrow or Wednesday and then I will post again. And to think I was going to pay $60 for one!!!!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Got it from Petco and I took each one over and told them water and touched the bottom and they licked and that was all it took. From there on out they went over and drank right from the water feeder. I will have to video Toby, he attacks that little tip with a vengence! But he does that to everything! ROFL

Oh wow, how wonderful!!!! And yes we need a picture of it. It's really easy for them to learn, just take them and touch it with a finger and let them lick from your finger a couple of times and they will get the hang of it it no time.

LOL, Ginger got the hang of it right away. Bernie is grudgingly using it. Poor Kirby has no idea...but he's fifteen deaf and nearly blind, so I expect I'll have to work extra hard with him. Carol, you are brilliant. I'm already enjoying cleaner faces and floors around here!!!

This is what I have for mine and P is learning how to use it now. http://www.dog-bows.com/cgi-bin/TheFinishingTouch/shop.cgi?database=misc&action=view_product&productID=H555&category=0

I have three of these and I love them!! Since I got an ex-pen with a door, I leave the door open and they go into there and drink - especially Jolie. I like these cause they don't leak and they are so easy to put on and take off. Plus you don't need a "special" bottle, just pop bottle.

I just love what you've both got going on there. So much better than my little man who has to make do with a water bottle tied to an old toilet roll holder :lol2: It's very embarrassing when we have visitors - but that's Brits for you :D

I just saw this, and it is wonderful! I made up the design with wood in the back and on the bottom. Then the PVC pipe, and we took Chloe to the PVC pipe see what height the spout should be, and hubby cut out the slit to place the bottle in. I am going to paint it and maybe put her name and flowers/roses with vines and leaves...I haven't decided yet.

My white Persian, Simba, also likes to drink from it, LOL! When they hear my putting the bottle in the pipe, they go running over, and Chloe will stick her face in front of Sima's in case he's there first :grin4:

It's great for eliminating the discoloration of the beard.
