*Praise Your Way to Successful Training*
Wouldn't it be nice if puppy training wasn't always focused on reprimanding wrong behaviors? Then try positive reinforcement by giving rewards for behaviors you want rather than punishments for those you don't. Here are a few suggestions:
1. Be prompt. Reward your pet immediately, so they know
what they did right.
2. Be consistent. Be sure to always use the same command
for the same behavior.
3. Be flexible. For more complicated tricks, reward your dog for
coming close to the desired behavior, so they know their on the right
track.
4. Be patient. This is my favorite! You'll need to reward with
treats every time, and then gradually move toward using a verbal praise
until a "Good girl!" is enough to keep her obeying.
*just some suggestions*.................:)
