I have ordered 2 grooming pillows from this website, i will let you know what i think of them when they arrive! I have always done the grooming on my lap & did not find that i needed a pillow but now that i have to do the grooming on the table i do need something. I asked for them to be made without the lace, i picked the Royal Blue & Pink plain satin. I could not get anything of the like over here in a satin so hopefully they will work nicely:D

I've seen similar things for sale at "shows" here near me. They are really cool and so pretty. I use a rolled up towel and then make Kallie & Toby lay their heads on that when I make their topknot. I think Brandy is going to be challenge to do a topknot but never fear I am here.:D :D Let me know how the pillows work for you E.

I've tried the rolled up towel with the little one but she will not lay her head on it! She is great at standing, I have also not put a band in her hair yet but she does let me play with her head hair, taking one step at a time with her:hearter:
I will update when they arrive, i thought they were a great price too!

Yep, you are so right about the one step at a time with these precious babies. They need to be taught to tolerate and possibly enjoy the process. Toby and Kallie are great with all phases of grooming but of course, Brandy is still learning but is cathing on fast. I can hardly wait until her topknot hair can actually be put into a topknot...........it makes them so precious and feminine looking...............but it is short right now so will be some time before that is going to happen.:( :( :(

  So how did the pillows work out E???? I saw some bone shaped pillows in a catalogue that their head just rests on but not sure if what you bought would hold their head more secure than just them laying their head on top of a pillow.  Any review or suggestions???

The pillows are great but i was suprised at how small they were, i dont know what i imagined! The neck whole is still a little big for Penny but i imagine as she grows it will fit nice.

Thanks Elaine......I may give the "bone" pillow a try.........it's only like $5.00:)

Wow so much stuff you can buy. I have always trained mine to lay still for me to do their TopKnot.
I am in the process of teaching Cassy-Ann, I lay her down in the postition I want her and I hold her FIRM, talk with her and give treats, so she is gettng pretty good now, if she has a struggle, I just say " Ah AH" in my tone and she stops.
Now blow drying well, that is another story, she screams at me :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: . I just ignore her and only talk nice when she is quiet, lol
Those pillows do look cute, but hubby wouldn't be impressed if I ordered those :D .

Mine all do great about holding still but with their head flat on the table......just thought a little bone pillow to prop their head might work out better. If it was a lot of $$$ I might not do it but it is soooooooo cheap, I just can't refuse. I'll have to post a pic when I get it with me doing a topknot!:D :D I use the ah ah too!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I agree Bek with Pebbles after sit she learnt down and she rests here head on my boobs  while I do her topknot. she has been so good since day one, no treats nothing. I can even redo her's and Scrappy's topknot while they stand still on the floor. they are so patient with their mommy :hearter:

I do that with the others but i dont want Penny doing this while ringside:blush: the pillow helps her to keep her head still & tilts it up a bit & saves on my back ache:awink:

I am so glad the topknot pillow works for you! I love mine. I'm in deep doodoo if I forget it at home when I'm showing. Caira will NOT keep her head still without it!

Oh, I can see the need for it when showing. I can understand it would be faster to use the cushion against nursing her and do her topknot

Ok you convinced me............I'm getting something for them to lay their heads on. I think it gives them good training to know that it is "topknot" time when they see the pillow pulled out. Don't get me wrong, my kids are great about letting me put their topknots in but always looking for something to improve my grooming process. Thanks for everyone's input; helped me make a decision about getting one!:D :D

Carol you have enough pups with topknots to justify the purchase of a cushion. I am asking as soon as the hols are over of my show friends here for where they get their cushions.

This is the link to the one I had in mind as it will work with all three. While it may not keep their head still like the pillows Elaine purchased, it will keep it elevated to a nice heigth for making the topknots and I like the price too.:D The kids are good about holding still, just need the heads a little higher for ease of placement of the topknots.

Oh that one looks good!!
I've tried using a taped up towel roll and Caira doesn't behave for it. only the topknot pillow. She can be such a brat though!! You should see when I'm trying to mess with her back legs, ugh.

So do you thing that bone pillow will work or does it give them too much freedom of movement???????
Let's not talk about legs..........mine hate their feet to be touched. But I am persistant!:) :)

Any one here recall the headrests for newborn babies? To help them in infant seats support their heads up? I have one I use and it seemed like a natural to me when I got it for Micro, he would just walk up to it and lay his head down on the padding. Mr Wookie fits into it like it was made for him and now Glory loves to just lay on it.
Very handy thing.

My baby is 26 years old............we didn't have those things back then.:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
My grandson did though and they are very very similar to the topknot pillows. I might just look into it when I go to the store........save on shipping too...........but I so like that bone too! Oh Decisions, decisions!!!

Yes, that is the one problem with mine, it is not satin. I just have never been a Satin fan so it's taken me a lot of time to convert. I am so glad that you did find those topknot pillows and they are working out for you.
