OH MY GOSH. That is terrible. How sad. I can't believe it. When are people going to learn that dogs are pack animals and to NEVER leave young children alone with them especially a dangerous dog like a PIT BULL.
That poor baby girl, how terrifying, how horrible:( :(

It is actually against the law to own a pitbull in the city of Denver and a lot of neighboring cities are following suit. Last year, there was a lady here who had 4 of them and had young children, which to me is a bad combination to start with. Her son, who was about 10 got locked out of the house and went thru the back yard to get in and the dogs got him down and were mauling him. The neighbor came running over with a stick and starting beating them off the boy, but he ended up losing an arm. The pitbull owners around here are all upset because they say they are sweet dogs and should not be discriminated against, but as I said, more and more towns are legislating against having them in the city limits.

I have been skirting around this thread as the headline alone just made me feel so ill.

It must have been a terrifying experience for that poor grandmother. I only hope the little one did not suffer...........pitbulls CAN be very vicious and quick in killing. In Florida there are an excessive amount of breeding of pitbulls for fighting. Seems like they are always closing down byb of these dogs being trained to fight! I know there are some pitbulls owners that love their dogs very much and it is a personal decision but I would personally not own one............little dogs can be biters but usually you can defend yourself against them without having serious injury. My understanding and from what I have seen on TV is that once a pitbull laches on to your, it won't let go easily.

That is the law here too & they are not supposed to be bred either but people are getting around the law by saying they are not pit bulls when they obviously are.
